CGY @ HAM ... Can Jones' boys beat the Stampeders? Ya never know. This fan likes what June Jones brings as a coach.

OTT @ SSK ... I would think SSK wins this one.

BC @ WPG ... Will we have the determination? It has not shown so far. Will the Bombers take us lightly? I doubt that. We have done well against them lately.

TOR @ EDM ... Gotta think the Eskimos are up for this one.

Playoff picture. No hope? Well, mathematically we are not eliminated yet.

We are at 6 and 8. Edmonton is at 8 and 6.

If Edmonton gets shut out, with no wins in the final 4, we need to win 3.

If they win 1, we need to win 4.

If they win 2, we are out, out, out.

If we win 4, cough cough, they need to win 2.

Edmonton hosts Toronto, visits us, hosts Calgary, and visits Saskatchewan. Not an easy schedule. It is a good thing for them that they beat a lacklustre Alouettes team today.

We visit Winnipeg, host Edmonton, visit Winnipeg again, and host Toronto. We could lose all 4, or we could win all 4. LOL Start with Winnipeg, and go from there. If we are still alive after that game, on to the next.

Some fans have given up, understandably. My football emotions are more subdued these days. Win or lose, I like to watch the games. If we win, great. If we lose, one usually gets to see some very nice plays by both teams.

And the Riders are part of the equation as well. But that is for another day, or another blogger.

^^^Agreed, a team that has blown games recently with Hamilton and Ottawa are not likely to suddenly flip a switch and become a different team.

Lions are catching Winnipeg at a good time. Strong chance of a win imo with or without Nichols.
Turnovers and field position will be key.
Not saying it saves your season.

REDBLACKS climbing up Nissan Titan Power Rankings

TORONTO — With Trevor Harris back behind centre, the Ottawa REDBLACKS have gotten their groove back.

In his return, Harris helped lead the team to a win last week and climb up this week’s Power Rankings. The pivot was key in the REDBLACKS second half comeback as they continue to chase the Argonauts for first place in the East Division.

This Week: 1 | Last Week: 1

The Calgary Stampeders return from their Week 16 bye refreshed and ready to head to Hamilton to take on the Tiger-Cats as they look to improve on their 12-1-1 record.

This Week: 2 | Last Week: 2

Despite losing their Week 16 contest to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are still sitting in second in the West Division. They look to get back in the win column this week as they host the BC Lions.

This Week: 3 | Last Week: 3

It was Brandon Bridge that helped lead the Roughriders to a victory last week after he replaced the struggling Kevin Glenn. Don’t let that fool you, however, as head coach Chris Jones said after the game that there is no quarterback controversy and Glenn is still the starting pivot.

This Week: 4 | Last Week: 4

The stakes were high for the Argos last week – win and they would clinch a playoff spot. Perhaps the pressure was too much for Toronto as they dropped their contest against the Riders. They’ll have a chance to clinch this week as they head to Edmonton to take on the Eskimos.

This Week: 5 | Last Week: 8

With the return of Trevor Harris, the REDBLACKS looked like a completely different team than the did a few weeks ago without him. Harris led the comeback against the Lions to keep a hold on second in the East. They now sit one point behind Toronto as they head to Saskatchewan this week for a meeting with the Riders.

This Week: 6 | Last Week: 6

The Tiger-Cats’ win against a tough opponent from the West should give them some confidence heading into Week 17. With the win, they kept their playoff hopes alive and will hope to take down another red-hot West team as they host the Stampeders this week.

This Week: 7 | Last Week: 5

The Eskimos offence led the way as they snapped their six-game losing skid with a win over the Montreal Alouettes. C.J. Gable scored two touchdowns and rushed for 111 yards in his Eskimos debut while Brandon Zylstra racked up 201 yards and a touchdown through the air. This week, they’ll look to keep it going against the Argos.

This Week: 8 | Last Week: 7

BC will hope to put their Week 16 loss against the Ottawa REDBLACKS behind them as they continue to try to get back in the playoff picture in the West. The Lions sit four points behind Edmonton in the basement of the division as they head to Winnipeg this week.

This Week: 9 | Last Week: 9

With their Week 16 loss to the Edmonton Eskimos, the Alouettes have officially been eliminated from the playoffs this season. The team heads into a Week 17 bye as they hope to end the season off with a couple wins in the last two weeks.

Ottawa does the Lions a huge favour, scoring a touchdown with 2 seconds left to beat Saskatchewan 33-32.

Great finish ! Ottawa mounts a 11 play 87 yards to score with a couple of seconds left on the clock. The interference call with 4 seconds remaining proved costly. Rider fans were stunned.

Very nice game, with a CFL-style finish. The Schmos beat the Argos 30-27.

Late in the 4th Q, Ray drives the Argos for a go ahead TD.

Reilly drives the Schmos for a go ahead TD.

Ray is moving the Argos for a tying FG or more, when Chick tips a pass. Int.

We can no longer catch the Eskimos.

Our last forlorn hope is if the Riders lose 3 and we win 3. Odds very, very, very high against. But we are not finished yet, with this nightmare season.
