Since the Lions loss to the Cats pretty much has defined who they are, a team that has little hope of making the playoffs and probably another victim of a slaughter if they do make the playoffs, I am going to cheer for the Riders vs Stamps today. Chris Jones and his staff have not been afraid to take chances and it is beginning to pay off for them.

Argos leading the Als 26-3 in the 3rd quarter. Kavis Reed looked like he's going to implode.

I'm a big Trestman fan, but in this league, ever he cannot win unless he has a good QB that is healthy. Sadly, we don't seem to be able to win even with a good QB that looks healthy. Leaving the last game, I had moved past disappointed and into disillusioned. Thank goodness for the bye week..... I won't have to think about football for 2 weeks.... we shall see if the Leo's did the same...

The Argos began the year behind the 8-ball in almost every regard from who would be GM down through HC to coaching staff to players. By rights they should be stinking up the league but they are acquitting themselves very well all things considered.TheLionKing wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2017 9:36 pmBut they look like a team on the rise with Marc Trestman at the helm. While on the west coast, the good ship Lion is slowly sinking into oblivion.
I hope the Stamps embarrass the Riders today and shake their confidence up real good.

Calgary hangs on for a 15-9 victory. Saskatchewan was driving for the winning touchdown but a fumble by quarterback Brandon Bridge with 34 seconds left sealed the deal for Calgary.
For the third time in the past 6 games, the Stampeders won without a touchdown pass from Bo Levi Mitchell. He's thrown 5 TDs and 5 INTs in that span.
Any loss by Saskatchewan and Edmonton is good for the Lions, who need all the help they can get. Saskatchewan and Edmonton play each other on the final day of the season. That game could go a long way to determining playoff positions in the West and East.

That was September and as close to a playoff type game as you can get!TheLionKing wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 3:53 pmCalgary hangs on for a 15-9 victory. Saskatchewan was driving for the winning touchdown but a fumble by quarterback Brandon Bridge with 34 seconds left sealed the deal for Calgary.
No TD from the Stamps but no big errors from their QB either.
As Stegall says, it's their D and D-line winning for them now.
Calgary's def line play is the real deal.
That drove Kevin Glenn to the sideline for the 4th Q - a lot more than his hand did. Heard Chris Jones post game say things like 'KG's 38' and he 'isn't going to run' and as well the HC made it very clear that he does not want him to run, period. He took him out basically to preserve him and also give the Stamps a changed look - and it worked but even Bridge took a hammering.
Glenn sounded annoyed post game but let's face it. He's should be quietly thanking his HC for keeping him healthy.
As TSN said the 3 man rush from the Riders didn't make it easy on Mitchell either. It was a tough game for QBs.
Riders locked arms on the national anthem.

3 down nation says Swayze Waters signed with the Eskimos so that should end Hugh O's miscues at the kicking spot.B.C.FAN wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 10:13 pmFor the third time in the past 6 games, the Stampeders won without a touchdown pass from Bo Levi Mitchell. I can't see Edmonton not getting back on track as they're a good team.
The Riders looked for real despite the D-Line of the Stamps ripping them apart. Stamps D could win them a GC.

I wonder if Jeff Hecht did likewise as he is a major Trump fanboy.Toppy Vann wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2017 12:58 pmThat was September and as close to a playoff type game as you can get!TheLionKing wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 3:53 pmCalgary hangs on for a 15-9 victory.
