Based on what we are hearing/seeing tonight, Anthony Thompson could very well prove the Lions were correct in picking him ahead of Loffler. Sounds like he is very active tonight, displaying a versatility that could be absent from Loffler's game.

Loffler is old school. Hard hitting. Fast. A gamer. But, IMO, a head hunter. Dangerous.

Alex Ross runs and hides with #3 job after easily best performance of all 4 BC QBs.

The Lions threaten at the end but Calgary hangs on to win 23-18.

Alex Ross went 9 of 16 for 144 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT in 17 minutes of play.

John Harris had 9 carries for 78 yards (8.7 yard average), including a 38-yard TD.

Maurice Morgan led B.C. receivers with 3 catches for 54 yards.

I think Keith Price might have his face pressed against the glass when training camp is over. Ross stood out in a real good way. Real glad some guys answered the bell and made some plays that will give coaches a lot to think about.

Not to pile on, but Price really hasn't done much since he got here. Small sample size but you expect improvement, at the very least more poise.

In his postgame interview on TSN 1040, Wally blamed the QBs for holding the ball too long and not generating enough offence for most of the game.

Asked to single out any players who caught his attention, he said Ty Long had a good game kicking. He said Long played the wind on the missed field goal and the wind didn't do what he expected.

Ya never know, these days. Some of those NFL guys are getting smart. I hope they keep their hands off JJ10. Pete Carroll. Bill Belichick. Out of the box thinkers. Stay away.

Going by the stats only without the benefit of having watched the game, Maxx Forde had 4 tackles and a QB pressure from the defensive tackle position.
