We were fortunate that Calgary missed an easy field goal but our last drive was the key to the win.

Rainey turned the game around with his touchdown return but Jennings also looked better in the second half and also got a little more time to throw.

A win against a good Calgary team and a positive start to the season that we can build on.

Good double win for football in Vancouver as the Whitecaps also pulled off a win today over the Philadelphia Union, and also after a quick deficit. :wink:

I guess Buono made the right choice this time by sticking with Jennings. I'm sure you remember that from 2003 - 2011 as head coach of the Lions, we would often criticize some of Buono's on-field decisions, with likely the biggest one being sticking to Dickenson in the 2004 Grey Cup instead of putting the season Most Outstanding Player into the game. It's fair to say that after any Lions losses, we will make start criticizing him again.

Well, nail biting win for the Lions but clearly there's more work to do as they head to Hamilton, who put on 42 points in Toronto in week 1.

On that series were they 1st and goal from the 10 or 1st and 10 from just outside the 10? I thought the latter but the sticks were at the other end and across the field from me. I thought there was zero chance for TD but worth challenging the spot to get the 1st down.

Everyone in the stadium (and Calgary) was expecting the Lions to run the ball, but the Stampeders just couldn't stop the Lions. The offensive line was absolutely awesome on that drive.
