Tailgate party is ok too - Beatty st/Terry Fox plaza
Before 6:30 - beers are $6, food is reasonable too ... compared to inside the stadium.

According to LU Adcock is out for the season opener with a lung infection. Hasn't practiced in about a week. Majority of first team reps at tackle have gone to Antonio Johnson so look for him to be promoted from the practice roster. Steward has also got some work there too but will start at guard.
Zac Minter is out for the Calgary game as well while Bryant Turner's progress remains very slow. Look for a starting dline of Roh, Westerman, Brooks and Bazzie. Menard and Allen will be part of the rotation.

Smart to have the Game on a Saturday night for tailgating. Most people will be downtown shopping. I know me and my wife use to go downtown for the whole day and then to the game for the Saturday night games .

Any of the watering holes in the Robson/Georgia area from Granville down to Beatty with spillover to Yaletown. Closer you get to the stadium the more popular the place. I've spent time in the Kingston Tap House and Jimmy's. Always lots of orange present in those places and tend to imbibe at one or the other. Shark Club is again open for business. Original Joe's replaced Rosies in the Rosedale. Can't remember the name but there's a newish brew pub in the old Dix place and whatever the current name is for the place right across the street from BCP; formerly Courtnall's Overtime then the Dog House.Lions4ever wrote:OK I just got tix to the Home/Season Opener.
Where (downtown) do people like to pregame?
EDIT: Please move if this should be posted elsewhere.
You're as old as you've ever been and as young as you're ever going to be.
The Lions have finally announced their 46-man roster and injured lists as required on the eve of their season opener.
Depth chart and roster
RB Anthony Allen, DL Maxx Forde, C Jas Dhillon and DL Bryant Turner Jr. are on the one-game injured list.
OT Levy Adcock is on the 6-game injured list, which could be a big blow the O-line.
WR Geraldo Boldewijn is on the disabled list.
The practice roster has shrunk to eight players from 10. DL Kache Palacio is gone and OL Antonio Johnson is added to the regular roster in place of Adcock.
I always like to compare the starting lineup for the season opener with the opening-day depth chart at training camp. This year, aside from the retirement of Lavelle Hawkins (Shawn Gore moves to short-side WR and Bryan Burnham steps into Gore's SB position) and the injury to Adcock, the only two changes in the starting lineup are the ones made last week for the second preseason game. Loucheiz Purifoy starts at nickelback (Steven Clark is the extra international DB) and rookie Charles Vaillancourt starts at right guard ahead of Kirby Fabien. Otherwise, the lineup is identical to the one that opened training camp on June 3. That reinforces the fact that the starting lineup is selected by coaches in the offseason and training camp is used mainly for players to learn their positions and for coaches to select the final few spots on their roster.

The disabled list is for players who are unfit to play due to non-football-related illnesses or injuries. They don't count against the 46-man roster limit.DanoT wrote:Boldvijn is not on the 6 game or 1 game injured list, he is on the disabled list. What is the disabled list?

A non football illness sounds like what has happened to Adcock. A reported lung infection yet he is on the 6game.B.C.FAN wrote:The disabled list is for players who are unfit to play due to non-football-related illnesses or injuries. What is wrong with Boldvijn?
These rosters are not always accurate so maybe that is what is happening now.
Apparently Adcock has pneumonia , according to the write up on CFL.ca . Wishing we still had Draheim here but it looks like he is on the 1 game injured list himself .DanoT wrote:A non football illness sounds like what has happened to Adcock. If Zach Minter is not on the starting rotation , it would be a huge mistake IMO . Or Dline was great with the Brooks -Minter tandem , but had the ball ran down their throats when it was Westerman in the middle . Most of us fans can remember that clearly , why can't the coaching staff ?
