Amid much speculation what with his recent injuries, JC announced his retirement today. Cgy will remain in good shape for Nationals at the RB position assuming both Messam and Matt Walter return.

Jon Cornish retires

Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

This fan would not be surprised if Calgary makes an offer for Andrew Harris.
Re Jon Cornish. I certainly did not like his fooling around with the way too low football pants. I respect how he seemed to mature towards the latter part of his career. A terrific runner, for a player with any passport, American or Canadian.
Re concussions ... A problem for football and hockey that is not going to go away. A serious threat to the continued financial status of the leagues. More needs to be done to protect the players, even though they choose these careers, and sign on for the risk.
Congratulations on a great career, Jon Cornish.
Just IMO ...

Tremendous running back. Good decision to retire when he still has his health.
