B.C. Lions at Winnipeg July 30 - Game Day Thread

Lulay shows his feet for a 1D, then throws to Taylor for another.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

got to punch it in on this drive
The emperor has no clothes. Running an NFL offence doesn't work in this league. Not only do the lions have a predictable D, they have a stale, predictable offence. I'd feel better if we saw some passion, but I think this team is outschemed and lacking leadership. Not a good formula.
If this PI challenge on Washington fails it will be our 2nd time out.
EDIT: My bad, that was our 1st challenge, which didn't burn the timeout.

Do we get a break off another penalty?
Leone chip shot makes it 20-13 Wpg.

Will the defence force a 2 and out ? Is that asking too much ??
Still need two scores FTW but our D needs to get the ball back for us first. Tall order?

AWFUL AWFUL coverage!! Once again when we need a stop late in a game we can't get it. I'm really get sick of this. No wonder no one is going to the games.
Lirim H restores the 10pt lead. 23-13 Wpg.
