Like others have said, certainly didn't see this pick coming.

I can't say with certainty, but I'd be willing to bet a pay cheque that a DE with 2.5 sacks last year would still be available in the 2nd (or possibly even the 3rd) round. :sigh:

Alouettes doing well. Ackie and Ruby.

I thought Jim Popp was showing signs of losing the magic when he hired Hawkins. But Popp is hitting it out of the park, it seems to me. Building on strength.

Do we miss Kelly Bates? We will see what we come up with in Round 2. Maybe we surprise by drafting a future, like Covington or Varga. LOL

And who knows what to expect from our #1? One can imagine that the pick surprised a number of people in the CFL.

All the reason this pick is a head scratcher. Lions obviously see something that the other teams didn't

why does this go so slow?

isn't there a time limit per selection?

if not, why?

if so, how long?

first year I have had any interest in it but I am beginning to know why

At this point I'm really hoping Durant falls to us and we pick him.

I don't mind it. He comes across like a Ricky Foley type; very athletic, size-wise looks like he would be a DE/Rush End, can immediately play special teams while providing NAT depth on the DL. With Westerman looking like he's pencilled in to start and Menard looking real solid as a rookie there is a commitment to having a NAT presence on the DL. With that in mind I like adding one more to provide both depth and rotational flexibility.
You're as old as you've ever been and as young as you're ever going to be.

DB? OL? ... for Round 2 ...

Boyko. A future, as in hope we see him sometime. Signed with the NFL Eagles. Off to TC with them.
