NFL, take no notice of Solo's accomplishment up here.

I guess it is possible that Solo could be spotted on NFL radar screens, and get a second shot down there, more of a real shot.

MOP, as well as defensive MOP. He was truly a heat-seeking missile this year.

Tremendous accomplishment for a great guy. Humble through it all.

I posted this here a couple years ago and I've been meaning to post it again ever since he was named double MOP/MODP winner for 2014 — unfortunately I couldn't find it among my files until just now. Oh well, better late than never.

Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Earlier in the season it was announced that Sol-El had signed a contract extension. I was surprised to hear this as i expected him to go to free agency, if not to test the NFL, then at least to see his worth in the CFL. However I have since learned that Sol's brother is an assistant coach for Chapdelaine at SFU and that Sol has been a guest coach at SFU. So Vancouver might start to seem like home for Sol. :yahoo:

I guess Lion fans can thank Chapdelaine for doing something right
