This could be the best BC Lions history page yet since it's the official BC Lions Alumni Association website that's been created just recently:
http://bclionsalumni.com/

Checking out the page, I'd say so far the best part is profiling all the head coaches in franchise history. If you've ever wanted to put a face to a name but wasn't able to, while now you can at:
http://bclionsalumni.com/management-staff/head-coaches/

I assume that most of you haven't seen what these coaches looked like:

Image
Clem Crowe, 1956-58

Image
Dan Edwards, 1958

Image
Wayne Robinson, 1959-61

In some cases, I've noticed that the profile picture of that coach certainly does NOT resemble his appearance during his years as head coach of the Lions.

For instance, this looks like a recent picture of Lary Kuharich as he definitely looks a lot older than when he served as the Lions at the start of the 1990 season.
Image

Conversely this is certainly a much younger picture of Steve Buratto than when he led the Lions to the 2000 Grey Cup.

--------
Likewise with BC Lions Presidents, you've probably never seen the faces of:
http://bclionsalumni.com/management-staff/presidents/

Image
Harry Spring, 1958-59

Image
Allen McEachern, 1967-69

Image
Jack Farley, 1977-78

--------
There are fewer GM's, so you probably recognize all of them: http://bclionsalumni.com/management-sta ... -managers/
But checking out the historical management and coaching staff, I'll have to say that I've never, ever heard of many of them.

As a small example:

Jerry Bruner

Image
Owen Dejanovich

Image
Gene Gaines

Image
Don Granby

Image
Marv Matuszak

--------
And as expected, there are numerous historical BC Lions photos: http://bclionsalumni.com/photos/

Such as:

Image
Image
1957 and 1959 Teams

Image
Larschield and Stukus in 1970

Image
Who remembers when Krazy George arrived in a helicopter in 1980?

Image
Carphi, Blain, and Higgins. What is that trophy?

Image
Should the Felions change their uniforms to resemble the fashions of the mid-1980's?

Image
Who remembers Joe Kuklo in 1984?

Image
Some Lions playing basketball in 1991.

--------

While the page is good, I found there are some problems:

1. Some pages take a long time to load and will time out.

2. Some of the descriptions of the photos are not accurate, and neither are some of the game summaries in the notable seasons page (http://bclionsalumni.com/the-history/notable-seasons/). Specifically in the 1994 GC when Danny McManus scored a TD it didn't tie the game at 20-20 but rather, after the convert it was 20-17 for Baltimore. And in the 2000 season it mentions that Lions won the WDSF 34-32 when Passaglia made field goal on the final play, which is definitely not accurate as the Lions never trailed in that game and the last score was when Sean Fleming missed a FG attempt to tie the game and it went for a single.

3. What is wrong with the trophy in the banner? Isn't it showing the wrong trophy? :bang:

This hasn't been mentioned yet - not even on http://www.cfl.ca/ so none of you may know about this.

Just before the big west division game, a former CFL coach who was an ex-Stampeder and then ex-Lion coach passed away passed away two days ago - Lary Kuharich.

Unfortunately for him, it's fair to say that both Stampeders and Lions fans not have good memories of him and do not think fondly of him. He became head coach for Stampeders in the middle of the 1987 season and lasted until the end of the 1989 season in which the Stampeders finished second in the west but did not win any playoff game and in the off season was replaced by CFL legend Wally Buono in Calgary.

He was then hired by Joe Kapp to be head coach for the Lions in the disorganized 1990 season and lasted only 10 games with a terrible 2-7-1 record before he was fired and was replaced by another hall of famer coach Bob O'Billovich. So when it comes to bad BC Lions coaches, he would definitely rank in the top 5. :hmm:

He died of brain cancer at the age of 70.
