I graduated from Troy University in Alabama. We have a very solid football program, we've won the Sun Belt Conference (FBS) 5 out of the last 6 years. So as you'd imagine we put out some good players. Demarcus Ware, Osi Umenyara, Leodis McKelvin, Sherrod Martin, Elbert Mack, and Jerrel Jernigan are some of our biggest names in the NFL right now.

We currently have two guys starting in the CFL who are friends of mine.

Kenny Mainor is starting at LB for Winnipeg, he wears #54.
Bear Woods is starting at LB for Montreal, he wears #48.

Bear Woods ... That is one of the all time great football names. It's up there with Butkus, Nitchke, Nagurski, SixKiller.

He looks like quite the character.

As a Bomber fan, I was quite pleased with Kenny Mainor in 2011. He did quite well in his rookie season and Iook forward to see what he can do next year after gaining a season of experience.

Bear Woods showed some talent in his first game but also showed his inexperience with the CFL game. Hard to tell whether he will get more playing time with the Als due to the veteran team they have.

Point more players like that towards the CFL.

from what I have been told, Bear was the nickname his late grandfather gave him as a child. when the old man passed he legally changed it in his honor.

he grows that long red hair out for "Locks of Love" and donated it six times. I think now though he is just gonna keep it because it has become his trademark. did he get traded to the Argos?

I'm glad the Bomber fans are pleased with Kenny, he was certainly a star for us.

If Woods does go to the Argos, I'm sure he would do well there. They're probably going to be bringing in a boatload and he'll have a chance to make a place for himself as a starter, which would be difficult on the Alouettes.

Love the name.
