TSN: Printers Out For At Least Another Week

Postby Centrum22 on Mon Jul 26, 2010 12:04 pm

Just announced by Rod Smith on TV.

I look forward to seeing what Lulay can do in his second start. Hopefully Arceneaux can hold onto those perfectly thrown long bombs.

Or try throwing them to Armstrong-he seemed to have no problem fielding that Hail Mary in the 4th.

Well Printers looked his best vs Edmonton, Lulay should be able to do the same.

Exactly, Esks won't be an easy target.

I think Printers has lost his starting job and won'[t get it back unless Lulay gets hurt......

Well, let's see what Lulay has learned, the Esks will be a hungry team, or a dejected one.

What worries me is Stamps and Campbell are not going to drop passes forever.

Yep, if Lulay plays well the next game, the Lions might stick with him. Perhaps a player shouldn't lose his starting position because of injury, but that's the way it goes (unless your DD). The important thing is winning, and if Lulay can get the job done, he'll be the starter.

Changes for Friday's game include: Franks starting at corner for D. Marsh who is out this week; Trestin George will be activated and will probably play halfback; Yonus Davis will be activated as punt returner replacing Jordan; Andrew Harris took many of the kickoff returns at practice along with J. Messam. Huge S. William is healthy, but the Lions seem happy with Craft. A. MacKenzie is still 50/50 for Friday and will see how he feels at practice tomorrow. Not sure about Eliminiam?. :roar:

I hope that's not the case. I don't believe in losing ur starting job due to injury especially if it's only a couple weeks. I wasn't happy the way Printers left, but I really wanted him to succeed even in Hamilton. Now I want to see him do well as a Leo. Lulay shows a lot of promise and looked pretty good against the Argos, but Printers had to go against the Als and Riders who happen to be the 2 best teams in the league. Lulay didn't look to great against Riders himself. Lets hope Printers comes back healthy and the playcalling improves. We saw signs of improvement last game with the use of Jamall Lee on more than one occasion. I say keep using him for those dump passes when the heat is coming.

otoh, if travis lead lions go on a winning streak, it would be foolish to change a winning lineup.

not that that has ever stopped wally.

TSN also reports that Printers may need surgery to remove some cartilage. If so, he will be out for at least an additional two weeks.

Tough luck for Casey, his mobility is his strong suit. Hopefully he'll heal up soon and be back at 100%. But I think the Lions QB'ing is in good hands with Lulay, Jackson...and now Mike Reilly, who looks like a bona fide QB prospect.

Maybe longer, with JJ also having issues Lulay is the "man" in BC for now.

Eh, i'm okay with it, the real issue will be whether or not he is allowed to throw those passes and routes that were picked off against the Argos, sometimes Coaches go into shells.

as for Casey, he was getting the !#@! knocked out of him for the first games, small wonder he has a partial tear in his knee.

M Reilly was highly thought of down South coming into the Draft period in 09, big arm, taller Qb, he is a nice get.

I hope Lulay can run a bit as so far, our Qb's just have not run effectively.
