A few observations from practice on Thursday.

Buck Pierce looked very good. He is feeling very confident about the upcoming game.

Jarious and Gino continue to look good. Even without Dave D, we are still pretty deep at QB.

The QBs threw more long balls again than we have been doing at practice prior to this week.

Rodgers and Mock looking good. Geroy, Jason and Paris looking good as usual. Even Brent Anderson and Josh Boden getting a chance to shine a bit.

Lots of work on special teams including our own versions of trick plays, on FGs, kickoffs and punts (no more detail than that).

Joe Smith away from practice, attending to his grandmother's funeral. Lots of work for Ian Smart and the Canadian contingent (Green, Bwenge, and Sadeghian) in Joe's absence.

Dennis Mitchell looking better today in his coverage, sticking like glue to the receivers.

Pottinger vowing to play better this game.

Tyrone Williams and Angus Reid moving a bit better after showing a bit of stiffness Wednesday.

The coaches doing a nice job, pushing the right buttons in the right way with their groups. Wally does not like his coaches to do a lot of yelling at individuals. That would be one contributing factor to the general overall good esprit on the team. Some teams and coaches love to yell in the player's earholes, even bopping them on the helmet. That is not the Lions' style. Dorazio and Mike Roach maybe a little more inclined to chew the players out once in a while.
