Tyron Gray?
Moderator: Team Captains
hey, i was wondering if anyone could give me any info on him. he was a little before my time of becoming a serious lion fan. he played around the early 80's and noticed he went from defensive back to receiver. he had around 1400 yards receiving one year so i assume he was pretty decent but then he seemed to be gone pretty quick. anyone know what happened with him?
Thank you for everything you did for OUR Lions Mr.Ackles, we will never forget you...RIP
i could have the name wrong, but i have a 1982 lions media guide with TYRON GRAY and he had 63 catches for 1428 yards and 9 td's? maybe he added 2 e's to his first and last name to "canadianise" his name??!! :lol:squishy35 wrote:Tyrone Grey was a Western Allstar in 1981 with the Lions. He was a very fast and sure handed receiver. I remember watching him catching a long bomb from Joe PaoPao in a game vs Edmonton.

Remember the rumours in the mid 90s that he was coming out of retirement to play for the Lions?
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Thanks.
