People probably get the impression that there are more child sexual predators these days than there was in the past, but I think it's just that we are more aware of them, and people are more willing to report it. In this regard, the internet is a bit of a double edged sword -- it makes child porn more available, but at the same time it makes predators like this easier to catch...

Not really. I would wager than most people caught with kiddie porn never really indulge with actual kids. Its just in their minds. They are interested, they like the porn itself. Casteration would make no difference in these cases as they still have the interest, would still be into the porn, would still create a "market" for those that provide the porn.

Now, my solution would be to put a lot more effort into finding porn providers and pouring gas on their genitals and eyes and lighting it but makeing sure they do not die. Same punishement for pimps, drug dealers and other such criminals.
