CKNW is first to learn that after two days of meetings, Wally Buono will not search for a replacement for Jacques Chapdelaine forr the 2007 season.

Instead, they will go with a "team" of assistants to run the offense, and may change the titles for both Dan Dorazio and Steff Kruk.

Danny Barrett is out of the running to replace Chapdelaine at OC.

More this afternoon.

I don't like the idea of a committee. Every ship needs a captain.

I agree. There should be at one guy who makes the final decision.

I agree. There should be one guy whose ass is on the line if the ship starts doing a "Queen of the North".

Agreed... DD is more than experienced enough to design his own offense, call his signals.

IIRC Adam Rita let DA call his own play selection late in his development. It worked out pretty well too.

It's time for DD to prove he's up to the challenge as his playing days are drawing now to the twilight years, and it's a purrfect way to continue his career eventually being an OC in this league, and perhaps getting behind BP.

For one season. 2001 and 2002...not so much.

How'd that Argo offense look to you this season? Same concept.

Fortunately, we aren't dealing with DA.

It's a team game, why not have it run by committee, as long as there is no in fighting.

IF they decide to run things by committee, that cannot be a good thing in the long run. Too many chefs can only spoil the broth, and hopefully, one true OC will emerge from this potential mess.

Agreed. Too many chiefs leaves us with not enough warriors. At least name someone the OC and let the leadership come through as it develops, as was the Burratto/Chapdelaine relationship.

I dunno if that's a good idea. Look what happened to Calvillo.

Decision by committee is a disaster waiting to happen. I can't think of one pro team that has won a championship with a committee at the top.
