Calgyra.
But I agree with SM, if it is the Riders, and you can't beat them, you don't deserve to go to the cup anyway.
Poll: Who do the Lions want in the WDF?

I want the Lions to play Calgyra, so we can kick their butts and then go out for a celebratory steak dinner!

Personally, I don't really care who we play, just as long as Calgary and Saskatchewan beat the crap out of each other.

6 overtime sessions would be also nice !Lion_Pride_26 wrote:Personally, I don't really care who we play, just as long as Calgary and Saskatchewan beat the crap out of each other.

I want Sakatchewan for a few reasons:
-better atmosphere and larger crowd if Riders come to town
-the Riders beat us 3 or 4, so let's beat them when it counts most
-the Riders can't win 2 in a row, so if they beat Calgary in the semi they are due for a loss
-I like the Riders, I hate Calgary, so why would I want the Stamps to win this weekend?

55,000 for WF in 2004 against the Riders.... 38,000 for WF in 2005 against Edmonton.Lionheart wrote:I very much doub the larger crowd, just that about 200 fans change from their Lions colours to green.
Yes, there was an NHL lock-out & Casey-mania in 2004... but I do believe that the Riders bring out a significant number of extra fans when they play the Lions at BC Place, especially if it is a big game such as the WDF.

The myth lives on... sigh
As you noted was two reason's for the bigger crowd, plus the first crack at making the dance in sometime. Last year the fans were sour over the oh four loss, the total nose dive the second half of the year, etc etc.
I was at that game, and there were only 300 green jerseys, as stated, most were Lions ticket holders. I know, some sit right in front of me.
But, why ruin a good myth? I'll shuddup about it now.

Saskatchewan, absolutely no question. We owe them a very big beating.
Yes, they beat us 3 of 4.......but let's revisit those games.
Game 1. Kicked their bewildered ***.
Game 2. Back to backs are hard to win, but if not for some bad tackling on their last drive and then Warren's subsequent fumble (int I know) we win.
Game 3. Serious DD brainfart. That doesn't happen often. Game should have been won.
Game 4. Serious Wally brainfart. AND...we played most the game in their house with a QB (DD) that didn't even know he was in Saskatchewan and had no business being in the field. Game should have been won.
So I do not fear a 9-9 team. With our D and their QB's....bring it on.
On the other hand....it's ALWAYS nice to beat Calgyra
