Someone once asked Ken Dryden when he considered the "Golden Age of Hockey" to be. He said it's whenever you're 12 years old. I forget his exact words but he elaborated by pointing out that at that age, you're old enough to understand the rules and tactics of the game but you're still young enough to be totally in awe of the players. As time goes by and you start making your own mark in life, sports can start to lose the lustre they held in one's youth.
