Like my title says, i'm trying to find an NFL team to follow. It'll give me something to do once the grey cup is over.

I know a lot of people here follow the Seahawks, especially tempting with Willson and Ryan on the team. I've been leaning towards the Texans because of Covington. I prefer a strong defense over a flashy offense. Any suggestions?

Be outlandish and follow a defunct NFL team, like the St. Louis Gunners or the Rochester Jeffersons. Read up on 'em and become an expert. Whenever anyone makes any comment about any team or player, relate it to a story from one of these teams. Make loud pronouncements that the year your team folded was the year football lost its innocence and the game has never been as pure since. It'll help if you a mutter a lot.

Trust me, this will be way more fun than following the NFL.

Cheers,

James

Don't. Play fantasy football or gamble on it instead. Much more rewarding, ultimately. Trust me on this one.

Here's a good suggestion. Think of a great ex-Lion who is now playing in the NFL, then root for his team. As a great example, Cameron Wake and his team, the Miami Dolphins.

I don't follow the NFL so I can't offer any useful suggestions based on style of play, etc. But I bet the Cleveland Browns would appreciate any new support that might come their way....

Should a forum moderator happen across this post, I'll hope they consider suspending this user for cruel treatment of a fellow Lionbacker. :rotf:

Yeah, I agree, and I'd definitely add Washington to that list.

And chwk lionsfan, if you "prefer a strong defense over a flashy offense," then how can you not love the Seahawks?

Now there just so happens to be another National Football League (NFL). This one is for Gaelic football. The defending champs are Kerry so they look to be a good team to follow. Or if you like the underdog, try Fermanagh; they have never won the league and last appeared in the final in 1935.
