Heard rumours that there might be a Bieksa/Kesler matchup in the fisticuffs....Did it happen?

Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

Edmonton Oilers losing streak now stands at 11 straight, 6 off the league record held by Washington and San Jose. Edmonton fans must be getting restless for change.

:bang: Still wish the Canucks had drafted Lucic. Nice to watch him take a shot, not sure why he didn't drop the gloves......

Is change firing YET ANOTHER HeadCoach? If playoff success is about building via the draft the Oilers would be proof of a team not being able to do that. Top drafts for YEARS and still struggling. Its amazing too that franchise had a CULTURE that was so different than what is being seen by the results now. Definately got to give fans credit for still watching......

I think the problem with the Oilers is playing youngsters in the NHL before they're really ready. Destroys their confidence. Last year's pick 18 year old Leon Draisaitl is a prime example.

Edmonton finally managed a win tonight to snap their 11 game losing streak. Guess you can't lose them all.

A moving tribute to the late Jean Beliveau tonight at the Molson Centre. The Canadiens were a motivated group tonight as they won 2-1. Canucks finished a grueling 7 game road trip at .500

Cody Hodgson was a healthy scratch for Buffalo tonight. In 28 games, he has 3 points and a -11. Zack Kassian the guy the Canucks got in return has 5 pts in 17 games and a -3

As expected, Edmonton finally fired their head coach Dallas Eakins and replaced him with Todd Nelson. Nelson has no NHL coaching experience just like Eakins.

Edmonton blows a 3 goal lead in the 3rd period to lose 6-5. The coaching change has had no effect on the team.

Leafs continue their free fall. Shut out again. That's 3 out of their last 4 games.

Very nice.
John Madden's Team Policies: Be on time. Pay attention. Play like hell on game day.

Jimmy Johnson's Game Keys: Protect the ball. Make plays.

Leafs home from their road trip. Lost again to the lowly Carolina Hurricanes. Not all is lost however, they managed to score a goal tonight.
