Saw a US based video clip on him, they seemed rather impressed with him as well, and he had a genuine thankfulness to the Kelowna fire station boys as well. He seems pretty grounded, hope he does very well in his NFL aspirations.
Entertainment value = an all time low

Yes, it was cool to see.....

I enjoy seeing/hearing about any/all players with a CFL link. I realize Watkins never got around to that other than being drafted by the Lions but cool to see nonetheless, IMO.....

Looking back over two years later at this moment, I think it underscores how much more Watkins's heart was in firefighting than football.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.
