Puts extra pressue on the gold medal ref and the US Team, IMO. I think any leeway the US may have got will not happen now. And the ref will be expected to be consistent, perhaps even more so than usual. When possible, it seems like the best officiated games (hockey or football, IMO) you have trouble remembering the officials. I mean I remember Andre P. referreed the Grey Cup but only because I was asked and looked it up. His officiating did not stand out to me as a reason why the Lions won/Bombers lost. Maybe Bomber fans may disagree but I doubt it.

I wish the Canadians the best in their next game but it is in their best interests to forgive/forget. If not the first 'marginal' call may throw them off their game and things may snowball. Olympics are always tough because its another 4 years to get an olympic rematch and often you may only get one, maybe two Olympics to try to win a medal.

3 more podium finishes for Canada. Carol Huynh wins bronze in women's freestyle wrestling, Mark Oldershaw bonze in the C-1 1000 metre and Adam Van Koeverden silver medal in the K-1 1000 metre

Both men were within reach of a better placement, although Van Koeverden was slipping moreso. As for Huynh, she twice drew her coloured ball a 1 in 3 chance to give her the upper hand in deciding a tied match, lucky girl.

Rob them. Then threaten to punish them. Welcome to Olympic style justice.

Having read about all the horrible referee decisions in various sports, I find I pretty much disillusioned about the Olympics, especially those sports heavily dependant on judging.

Which also disrupts the Canadian's preparation for the French team for the bronze medal....sigh. What a mess an official that isn't qualified can do if you let her.
I mentioned before the Olympics is perhaps the only sports organization in which the results can be changed long after the fact (e.g. Sale/Pelletier and the French judge) by giving duplicate medals or replacing the original winners. In this case though, since it was a semi-final match I don't know how that could work.

Currently scoreless in the second half between France and Canada. :cr:

Lots of silver. One gold. Summer ain't exactly our thing, it seems.

GB doing way better than I thought. I thought that little island was in decline. Showing lots of spirit and spunk.

Happy for Carol Hyuyn.. Her gold performance last time was very, very special.

Good for our soccer girls. Sounds like no love lost between US and Canada.

Jamaican runners finished 1,2 and 3 in the 200 metres. They should be unbeatable in the 4 X100 relay

I would recommend Carol Huynh to carry the flag at the end. Gold in 2008. Bronze in 2012.

Soccer girls (Christine Sinclair) are good too, except there is usually no point in complaining after a referee blows a game for you.

Or the gold medal trampoline girl. Rosannah MacLennan.

Usain Bolt can fly. Conceited about his gift from God however.

I am not all that keen on All Things Olympic at the moment. Hype. Money. Bad calls. Prima Donna athletes. On and on ... Furthering humanity and the human condition? Not so sure about that ...

The games used to be for the rich, while the poor of the World did not participate. Hey, wait, it's still that way. LOL

Can't believe they award medals for dressage, synchronized diving, synchronized swimming. Matter of time before medals will be awarded for cricket, and dodge balls.
