Did you think that it was penalty to begin with? If not, then the NHL isn't going there, if yes, then really the NHL should suspend Boychuk as a result of the injury. The NHL has painted itself into a tight corner with the Rome suspension, just too bad that it always seems to sway the pendulum when a Canuck is watching the clock.

It's just disgusting.

Imagine if the Canucks and the Bruins were playing with international referees, as in the Olympics or the World Championships. The Bruins would not be able to do all the extracurricular stuff which lets them dominate the game. Slue foots. Boarding. Cross checking. Punching. Face washes. And on and on.

The Canucks are obviously following the example of the Sedins. Turn the other cheek. Let them punch us.

The problem as I see it is that the Canucks are playing a game that the NHL is not ready for. The Canucks are trying to play between the whistles. The referees are letting the Bruins set the tone. Anything goes after the whistle and even before the whistle.

The Flyers of the 70s mastered that game. Push the limits constantly. Eventually the refs allow all kinds of stuff.

In the league as it is now, I would be inclined to go back to goon hockey. Bring in the enforcers. Play cynical hockey. Pound heads.

I just feel the Sedins can't win at times. Play like hockey players and they get called the 'Sedin Sisters' or 'Thelma and Louise'. So they push back and get flack for participating in after the whistle crap. Even Don Cherry said stick to what you are good at, playmaking (his little speech: crusher, turns into rusher becomes usher- he said rusher, crusher, usher would be the Sedins). Then Daniel gets his face used as a speed bag and gets called out for not fighting back. Or your teammates get called out.

Yes, IMO, the hit on Raymond should have been a penalty. I'm not saying a fiver. But considering the media, fan and NHL response to the Rome hit (that was called a penalty by the Refs) that hit on Raymond was a penalty, IMO. This is an issue I hate about officiating in all sports. I personally feel basketball is the worst offender. A cheap shot doesn't get called but the response does. I still feel the only justification for Rome's 4 games is the Bruins lost their top forward for the series.

Mason Raymond was in a vulnerable position, whatshisname could see that but took the opportunity to break Raymonds back - with relish. It was grotesque. If that was a hockey hit I'm a monkey's uncle.

On TSN, Kerry Fraser says it should have been a penalty.

Boychuk can openered him. Stick between the legs. Twisting the player. Pushing him into the boards.

Amazing how the referees swallow their whistles, but only at certain times.

Chara interferes with Henrik. They give Henrik a compensating penalty. These two incidents were right at the start of the game.

I expect it got into Luongo's head.

Ya gotta play to the refs, and hope it is your year, in the eyes of the NHL Head Office.

Boston is full value for the win of the Championship. They performed when the Canucks didn't. This game hasn't even been that close. I congratulate the Bruins and the Canucks. They did better than anybody else this year but what is clear is that yet another Original 6 team is going to snap its SC drought against us in a game 7. I don't know what it is with this franchise but they always seem to come up a little bit short. We are going to have to wander the wilderness some more it would seem and if this team plays true to form, they won't even get a sniff for another decade or so. Luongo let us down. He wasn't alone but he didn't steal a game for us when we desperately needed one. I was always a bit neutral towards Luongo, but now I am firmly in the "he isn't the answer" camp. Sadly, we may well be saddled with him as the huge gamble appears not to have paid off.

Henrik and Daniel Sedin -4 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Roberto Luongo gives up 3 goals on 13 shots.

Tim Thomas faces more pucks and shuts out the Canucks.

Sure happy to Lucic hoist the Cup. Obviously a bad ending to a great run by the Canucks. Oh well, at least there isn't much wait until Lions football....
