If you loved all the non hockey garbage that went on, then shame on you
if you loved the 8-1 loss by the canucks, then who the hell are you cheering for anyhow?

That last clear attempt to injure by torres should earn him multi game suspensions. Dont expect any such thing, but it really pissed me off and was sympolic of most of the canucks attitude tonight.

They better put that *poop* aside and just play hockey from now on.

Better than the 94 team my ass. The 94 team never lost their composure or played so undisciplined during the playoffs. I dont care if this team does go on to win the cup, they got a long ways to go to match the class of the 94 team.
Noway the 94 Cup game had as much 'stuff' happening during the play, both sides. With that and a large margin in a game, it was bound to go south. BTW, that was both sides dishing, not just the Canucks, IMO.
as I said to the lion king.
But you have placed the Canucks in the sin bin, not the Bruins at all, and when push comes to shove you have to match the other or find yourself on the losing end.

No, ya see, I dont give a quack about the bruins. If they wanna play or conduct themselves in a negative way that gets them all kinds of penalties, bad reputation, and games lost, good for them. Not good for the Canucks.

also, I want, even need, to respect the Canucks. As for the Bruins, well, I dont need to respect them and I never was an Orr fan.

I was and always will be about integrity, good sportsmanship and just play the game. I hated it when I was trying to enjoy playing a sport and my own teammates started making aholes of themselves. Just shut up and play the game, clean.

oh for crying out loud - how can it be an unsuspecting hit - you're comming right up the middle at a high speed with the puck - what the h**l do you expect. how long can you watch your pass. its ridiculous. if its a late hit - I've never seen a guy watch his pass so long. he never looks up - whose fault is that?

So apparently Rome's done. FOUR games. Yes I think the hit was late but the only way I can understand four games is now the Bruins lose one of their top forwards.

Kudos, IMO to both coaches. Alain just admitted it was late and almost seemed to accept Rome's hit warranted a major. Honesty I'm not used to seeing from head coaches. I also got to give credit to Julien. He was choked that Vancouver would have its players behave in such an unprofessional manner (Lapierre offering his finger) but then TWO Bruins did the same thing. Apparently he tore into both players (Recchi and Lucic). They both admitted it was unprofessional. I don't think it was that big a deal but once Milbury/Julien popped off, I'm glad Julien backed it up.

Too bad about Rome. He is a willing soldier, and IMO not in the least a dirty player.

These guys on both teams are so worked up due to the intensity of chasing Lord Stanley's Cup, that stuff happens.

Both teams are very much on edge.

Bergeron should not have stuck his stinky gloved finger in Burrow's mouth.

Burrows should not have bitten down on it.

Lapierre should not have taunted Bergeron.

Lucic should not have taunted Burrows. Et cetera. Bad for hockey. Bush league all the way.

And a guy like Thornton is a menace out there, so jacked up.
.........

Hopefully the teams will get down to business, although it is tough/impossible to play like just any other game.
...........

A flukey goal. And the cave in. Boston had played nearly per-fect games for them in games 1 and 2 and lost painfully. They were due some breaks, I suppose.

But karma comes back, and momentum swings.

Burrows bite, then his explosion in game 2 was going to crank the Bruins up.

Lapierre taunting was going to crank them up.

The Bruins frustration after close losses was going to crank them up.

Boston home ice was going to crank them up.

It may be just as well to see the Canucks have all the wheels fall off in one game. Things had been going very well for them. This might help them focus once again, as they have done for most of the year. Regroup. But they better do it fast. The Bruins have regrouped.

It would be nice if Dan Hamhuis can play.
........

By the way, IMO the NHL allows way too much peripheral stuff. It cheapens the game. There is no game in the world with the natural excitement of hockey. The peripheral stuff is for the long ago ages. That time is gone.

Yet there is this article from Boston on Alain's comments directly afterwards....
BOSTON — When asked about Aaron Rome‘s hit on Nathan Horton in the first period, a late, punishing blast to the head that led to a visibly-dazed Horton being wheeled off on a stretcher, the Canucks’ coach didn’t just cross the line. He got a Carl Lewis style head-start and leaped a good 30 yards past it.

“I mean, that hit was a head-on hit, (Horton was) looking at his pass,” Vigneault said in all seriousness, both subtly and smugly shifting blame to the player who wound up in the hospital because of the collision. “It was a little bit late.”

While most coaches almost always pull the “I haven’t seen the replay yet” card, Vigneault held nothing back in essentially finding no fault in Rome’s actions and obviously had no problem throwing in a little dig at No. 18 in Black and Gold.

Truth be told, Horton had dished the puck off a good two seconds before the Vancouver blueliner left his feet and leaped into him elbow first.

But, even though the play was by all accounts awfully close to the textbook definition of Rule 48 (hockey lingo for the NHL’s attempt to crack down on illegal hits to the head), Vigneault had a different perspective.

“I don’t think that’s the hit that the League is trying to take out of the game,” the delusional bench boss said after his team got walloped 8-1 in Game 3. “This is a physical game, you have big guys. (There’s only a) fraction of a second to decide what’s happening out there.”

Yeah, all class......it's hockey, not horseshoes. But if you want to only remember Trevor hugging McLean, then by all means. Thought you may want to remember this lil beauty....

Good recall, as IR Bure got a $5K fine for that and the Fox radio led by Larry and Willy at the time, suggested that they raise the $5K and an additional $5K so he could do it again. Different times alright, much slower paced than today's game.

Exactly. I think he's being held out as the 'new' standard. FINE, but you'd better back it up. Stay consistent. I'm all for getting this out of the game but there have been other Canucks more guilty, IMO. Of course when Crosby misses the playoffs due to this type of injury you can see why the NHL finally realizes its gotta take steps to eliminate those hits. It took a star getting hurt but now everybody will be safer if the rules are followed through on by the players, officials and league, IMO.

X2-----I hate all the crap. Snow showers, the ankle slashes (last night both teams deserved lots more penalties, IMO) and the glove face washes. Its also tough to hear the indignation of teams about opponents 'cheap play' when they are good at it themselves. IIRC, in the SanJose series Daniel (or was it Hendrik?) was lampooned by media, tv and other players for turning away to move the puck and he got slammed into the boards from behind. Somehow his fault of course. I think the league just needs to crack down on this extra peripheral stuff next season and make it CRYSTAL CLEAR that it can't happen in the playoffs either. Many are quick to pounce on officials begging to 'just let them play' but I don't see why ankle slashes, snow showers and after whistle scrums is part of the game.

how about the slash on Bieksa's knee from behind as the play left the Vancouver zone. it either gets called or we're gonna get even.

It was a bit sad to see the crap going on as the Canucks were down in a huge hole but it was not just the Canucks.

It takes the shine off the series and more importantly the Canucks look beatable when they got into this stuff. I am sure they will be re-sending the message to their team to just play hockey as the cup is close and this stuff wont' win a game let alone the series.

They need to get back to their game and play without this crap as it seems the Bruins were really getting to them. The US broadcast team were very critical of all that stuff including their disgust at the debris being tossed at the game end. Not good for the game or the cup.

The Canucks faced a very hot goalee and a team that went on fire.
Their play in chasing the game and losing the puck with solo attacks and shooting the puck in without the legs to get there made it a tough game. Was surprised (a bit) that they didn't rest Luongo at 4 zip.

Another ugly game but it was better than the other night, IMO. I was reluctant for the Canucks to face Boston and these last two games in Boston have shown why. I think lots of fans are probably hopping off the bandwagon but this maybe a home series. Boston has to win a game in Vancouver. Maybe it will be on Friday but until they win here, they can't win the Cup. To all the fans with tickets Friday, I think you'll be in for a dandy. Certainly better than the last 2 games in Boston.

The Canucks need some composure. Burrows whacking Thomas' stick is not sensible in an important game.

Turning point in the series just might be the Canucks huge hit on the Bruin who is now not playing but rallying his team.

Gillis and Vigneault certainly aren't condoning the shoddy work of the Canucks and the extras by Burrows, etc as it was the end of that stuff that was pivotal in their huge success this season. Why lose composure now?

Van will be different I am sure next game.
