Re: More Stuff from Twitter.....
Former #Ticats C Marwan Hage will retire on Monday. Will retire as a Ticat, as he should. #Redblacks #CFL Funny how the guys on your priority list who you take in the expansion draft are sometimes the ones who don't bother reporting. Keep in mind he was taken in the second round. I think they knew ...

Re: Kalif Mitchell back to BC?
I was never in favour of trading Mitchell without an adequate replacement, and that never happened. So if he can still play (he had a very good season in TO last year) then by all means. He would be a big addition for this team's defence IMO. As for Mitchell's behaviour, he isn't a problem child wi...

Re: This I Find Odd
All true. I can't understand the Lions' inability to attract any free agents unless Wally has been really penny-pinching this year. You'd have to think players would rather be in Vancouver during the football season than in Regina or Winnipeg (no offense to residents of those cities intended), but ...

Re: This I Find Odd
The surprising part to me is that Rider fans haven't stuffed the ballot box for their own on this one. That's astonishing for sure. I'm with you on that one SJ. Wally being listed so far down is less surprising to me than Taman not being at the top thanks to Riders fans love of any CFL poll, especi...

Re: Lions to launch 2014 ad campaign
A lot of the Canucks' season ticket holders are corporations. They get tax writeoffs. Way of doing business these days Might be able to claim them as an expense but just like an individual you don't get 100% of the money back. It might amount to 25% of the cost gets recouped in tax benefits. Lay ou...

Re: Lions to launch 2014 ad campaign
According to LU's blog, the Lions are to start their 2014 ad campaign this week. And not a moment too soon. A massive tire fire is burning outside Rogers arena, and it's sending out smoke signals across the street to "Buy Lions Tickets." It's now up to the football club to seize the momen...

Re: Another Good One Gone (for Now Anyway): Alex Hall
Another key loss for the Grey Cup Champions. Hall was maybe a nice pick-up by a Riders team loading-up for a GC run last year; but not sure he is such a "key loss" when the already have Chick & Foley at DE; Dressler, Sheets and Butler - OTOH - could be considered key losses. Maybe I w...

Re: CBC Massive Job Cuts - No longer to bid on broadcast rig
CBC has lost the rights to Hockey Night in Canada starting next season to Rogers. Simply put, they couldn't outbid what Rogers was willing to pay. Hockey Night in Canada was a major revenue generator for CBC and subsidized many other parts of their operation as well as garnered much needed advertis...

Re: CFL Draft May 13, 2014 (Combine comments from March)
I think there is a big difference in who you select at the start of the draft and who you pick at the end. All your picks past the fourth round are pretty much long shots. If Huf were to pick a guy who had superior testing numbers but was unaccomplished on the field late in the draft, I don't think...

Re: New Jersey
It just looks better. And I've always thought the Lions white helmets need the traditional stripe. I also liked the old stripes on the sleeves fromt he 80's. Basically the early 80's uniform to me is a great look. Leave the helmets alone. I don't need another style that I have to buy for my game wo...

Re: CBC Massive Job Cuts - No longer to bid on broadcast rig
You get what you vote for. did we vote on broadcast rights?? We voted for the Conservatives who made it clear that they would be making cuts to the CBC. While fingers are being pointed to the Tories over on RF.com someone posted a graph in the thread below showing how the biggest slices in the CBC ...

Re: New Jersey
Just messing around, but if the Lions just made these two adjustments to their Uniforms, I'd never ask for another change. Didn't spend a lot of time on this, just had some to kill. How quick do you notice them? two changes. Three if you count removing the lame font above the numbers. Apparently yo...

Re: Lions have signed Jyles as TC barometer.....
I was thinking the same thing Hambone. Clearly having some CFL experience in your QB's at camp is crucial to evaluating the rest of the talent, so signing Jyles makes sense. Perhaps Wally is waiting it out with Ottawa, who knows. I will say this, for all the times I've questioned moves by Buono, I ...

Re: Lions have signed Jyles as TC barometer.....
I am comfortable with this signing. To come to a quarterback factory with no pressure makes a lot of sense. I have seen some flashes of brilliance from Jyles and colossal blunders. I can live with somewhere down the middle. I was on record as no longer having interest in Kevin Glenn for the type of...

Re: More Stuff from Twitter.....
Hopefully, this means Westerman wasn't happy with his 2013 season and having a better 2014 puts him in a better barganing position......plus the mystery that is the SMS cap will be solved. One could take his comments and as he said twist them. It's not at all unreasonable for him to want to go out ...
