Agree with that assessment. We need a couple of headhunters back there who will strike fear in the receivers coming over the middle.

Re: Stamps 28 - Lions 26 Post Game Stats and Comments

Hufnagel's comments post game were somewhat revealing too . He said that it came down to who had the ball last . Burris said that they had practiced the scenario . They knew exactly what to do with 1:35 left on the clock , that there would be all the opportunity to make enough plays and that the op...

Re: Gotta blame this on the coaches

Hufnagel was being somewhat disingenuous (not forthcoming) when he said the last team with the ball wins. He had the Lions' soft zone all practiced up with his no huddle offence. Robert E. Lee and Napoleon oftentimes said they knew what the enemy was going to do. No doubt they knew tendencies, and ...

Re: Stamps 28 - Lions 26 Post Game Stats and Comments

Best case scenario, long-term for the Lions franchise, is that we miss the 2009 playoffs. WB takes a long hard look in the mirror and steps down as HC to become a full-time GM. I have a feeling that once one of WB's two lieutenants get the promotion to the head job, we'll see their true philosophie...

Re: Stamps 28 Lions 26 Post game Comments.

As I posted on another thread, perhaps it's best that the Lions miss the playoffs. This will force Wally Buono to take a real hard look at his personnel, philosophy, and coaching staff. Isn't that what last year's early exit was supposed to do? Getting rid of Williams, Floyd, Clermont, Roberts etc....

There were at least 2 offsides credited to B Johnson. Too many offsides tonight. Totally undisciplined.

Re: Stamps 28 Lions 26 Post game Comments.

The last drive of the game ... About that soft prevent zone. Please take it out and shoot it. 3 times Copeland goes to the same seam in the zone and gets the pass from Burris who does not even have to look at anyone else. Totally agree. A prevent defence oftentimes prevent you from winning. Stamps ...

Re: Gotta blame this on the coaches

Have to concur with Lions33's assessment. After the Lions took an early 10 pt. lead, the Stamps adjusted by bringing the blitz. As usual, Lions did nothing to counter the blitz. No screens, saw one draw, no running game. I think I heard on the post game that AJ Harris got 9 carries tonight. :bang: A...

Re: Isn't anybody nervous..?

Hate to say it but missing the playoffs or an early elimination from the playoffs will force Wally Buono to take a long hard look at his coaching staff. We've had problems on 3rd and short for couple of seasons and we still have not solve the problem. Too predictable play calling. Nothing to counter...

He'll be getting alot of opportunities as Burris will be coming at him all night.
