BC 42 - Bombers 24 Some post-game stats and thoughts
Some stats from a very satisfying game ... Name CP/AT YDS TD INT J. JACKSON 19/24 340 5 1 I am very happy for Jarious. He is the ultimate good soldier. When he is relaxed and in the rhythm of the game, he is all you could hope for in a QB. RECEIVING Name REC YDS TD LG G. SIMON 7 192 2 76 Geroy explo...

Re: How are the players looking at practice today?
LIONS WITH 4 QUARTERBACKS TODAY --- RATINGS FROM TUESDAY PRACTICE 1. Buck Pierce - tossed one long bomb over the head of a receiver, had one catchable pass dropped but struck 4 beautiful passes in a row or was it 5 - right on the money. Threw the ball with a ton of zip on it and was as accurate as ...

Re: RIP: Bob Ackles dead of heart attack
Devastating. And shocking. Only 69 years of age. A great loss for all Canadians and football fans everywhere. My condolences to his family. We have lost a great football man and a great Canadian. A local boy with no pretensions. Who else would not mind being known as "The Waterboy," and se...

Re: Roster of 42 + 4 Active + 7 Practice
I agree on the starters with the possible exception of Dennis or Goodwell ahead of Pottinger. The Lions need both Dennis and Goodwell on defence because of their lack of depth at linebacker. Strong linebacker play is the key to controlling Calgary's running game, which features a lot of play action...

Re: Roster of 42 + 4 Active + 7 Practice
I say Stith over Plante Lorne Plante is a non-import, whereas Walter Stith is an import. Stith will just suit up and play if Murphy or Jiminez have to run off to the nursery. Stith is taking the place of Amariah Farrow, an import O tackle we had on the Practice Roster for 2 years. Does the 4 "...

Re: Zac Champion
I know the media is saying that Parcells likes the big guys, but look at two of his RBs from his Giants days: Joe Morris and Dave Meggett. Parcells has always been willing to find a spot for the right little guy. He also had Richie Anderson as his FB, and he was only RB sized. He likes Terry Glenn ...

Zac Champion
Matt Dunigan has proudly pointed out that both Joe Smith and Zac Champion are from his alma mater, Louisiana Tech. It seems that at some point Zac was on the NFL's radar (Look at the scouting report below). I wonder how and why he slid in their estimation, allowing the Lions to get him on their rost...

Re: Clarence Coleman
Great hear from you again WCJ…You've been too quiet lately. Let's hope that Coleman will have a great outing tonight and show us something we have not seen in a long time in BC, a wide out with deceptive speed, with great vertical leaping potential. As you say it should have been our most important...

Clarence Coleman
The Lions brought in a number of import receivers for Training Camp. Although they have shown athleticism and talent, it has not looked like the next Mervyn Fernandez or Geroy Simon is in the group. Not a lot of size, and no apparently game-breaking speed. For myself, having seen wide receiver as on...

Re: The Last Word
Hi Jason I'm glad this has been resolved, and that you have been exonerated. You have been a most valuable member of the Lions, and one can only imagine how difficult this slow process must have been for you. I am also glad that you can finally give your side of the events. I was unaware of your leg...

Re: Official 2007-08 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread
There are going to be some changes, and there are going to be some casualties. IMHO ... Vigneault is gone, and probably his assistants too. Nonis will be lucky to survive. The scouting department will be lucky to survive. Naslund is probably gone. Not even sure if he could be brought back at reduced...

Re: LaVar Glover re-ups with the Leos
I expect Wally will continue to work well with the SMS. The institution of the SMS has given Wally one more advantage relative to his coaching colleagues. His approach keeps his team in good condition financially. Of course the concern is the high level of talent on the team, and the natural desire ...

Re: Official 2007-08 Vancouver Canucks Season Thread
With that said, a victory against the Oilers and the Canucks/Flames contest could well become the showdown for the final playoff spot, that would be a ratings winner for CBC. As Yogi Berra would say, "It ain't over 'til it's over." But, whether the Nucks make the playoffs or not, I am won...
