Re: Bombers vs. Lions Game Day Thread
The inconsistent QBing is killing our teams chances. Glenn was a waste of a 1st pick.

For sure. It's a great game. I just love everything about it.PigSkin_53 wrote:Not quite Aussie rules Mike, but quite unpredictable, and definitely excitingMikeAK wrote:Love this game. Love this team. Man oh man, am I ever happy to be able to enjoy a beer and a leos game.

Re: BC Lions announcement
I am in total support of Simon. In my opinion he was the face of the Lions, and quite possibly pro sports, in BC for a very long time. My only wish is that he had retired a Lion. Well deserved.

Re: CFL/CFLPA Labour Negotiations -- Deal reached
Why certain players still using other leagues, such as the NFL and MLB, as comparable is beyond me. As far as Marco's comments, I think he's still suffering from that concussion he sustained back in 2012. Why the F*** is he listening to people from other leagues that aren't even in the same world as...

Re: CFL/CFLPA Labour Negotiations
I still feel all of this is just last minute negotiation tactics coming from both sides. I will be extremely shocked if a strike were to happen and a deal isn't reached before the first game of the season. Both sides know the impact a work stoppage would have on the CFL and it's success moving forwa...

Re: CFL/CFLPA Labour Negotiations
I felt the biggest road block in all of this was the revenue sharing. If the CFLPA has moved on from that I feel the rest will all fall into place fairly quickly. The NHL was able to hammer out a deal over a couple of nights once they were all on the same page and had a framework for a deal. That le...

Re: CFL/CFLPA Labour Negotiations
I agree with what most of you Gents have talked about in here. It is also good to hear the CFLPA have reached out. Maybe they have been reading this thread?...lol. Either way, hopefully the players have had internal talks and realize their expectations, as well as comparisons with other leagues(NFL)...

Re: CFL/CFLPA Labour Negotiations
Yeah, I thought he was direct and honest. Probably spoke in such a way that represents the majority of the members views. I think he later apologized because it wasn't the usual preaching from the universal union members handbook and because of that received flak from inside the PA. I also agree wit...

Re: Should we send Wally this news?
Maybe a bookend for Olafioye? The Lions did, after all, accept a player (Olafioye) who similarly failed a physical with a non-football (I assume meaning injury) medical issue. http://www.seahawks.com/news/press/article-1/Seahawks-Waive-Tackle-Garrett-Scott-With-Non-Football-Illness-Designation/29e7...

Re: CFL/CFLPA Labour Negotiations
I'm with Flory on this one. Players made sacrifices to help keep the league afloat in the past. No matter how you spin it, teams will be making a minimum of $2 million more annually under the new TV contract. Giving half that money to the players in the form of a $5.4-million cap or equivalent sala...

Re: CFL/CFLPA Labour Negotiations
Flory: “Our proposal still allows for teams to (each) be making a million dollars more than they previously were making.” #CFL Comments like this make me think the players don't care about the health or future of the league and just want as big a piece as they can get until they ride off into the s...
