Re: Lions @ Argos, Aug 6, 2012, Preview and Odds

One thing that helps the D give up the least yardage is long, time consuming drives by the O as in the 5 minute and 6 minute plus drives in the second half against Calgary. No wonder the D backs haven't got any interceptions--- they can't get on the field. :yahoo:

Re: Earnest Jackson May Start Against Argos

I'm another one who isn't ready to give up on Tim Brown. Although pro sports is about "What have you done lately", I still remember the first half of the Grey Cup with Lulay struggling a bit with accuracy and Brown giving the Lions good field position throughout the half with his return ga...

Re: Lions 34 - Stampeders 8, Post Game Stats and Comments

Sorry guys, this is VERY late, but I wanted to provide some feedback on the HUGE win in Calgary... First, this is the exact thing Champions do...they can lose their edge and focus for a while, but they never seem to lose those MUST WIN games...and for the Leos, on the road in Calgary at risk of sli...

Re: CFL Week 6 Preview, Odds and Post Game Comments

Has anyone heard who will start at QB for Winnipeg. If it were up to me I would dress Pierce if healthy, but start Brink who imo is better than some starting QBs in the western division.

Re: Lions 34 - Stampeders 8, Post Game Stats and Comments

Great call by Benevides to squib kick the ball on kick offs most of the game as it helped limit Taylor's kick returns. The Stamps did get great field position on one of those squib kicks when the up-back fielded the ball for a 8 or 9 yard return to Stamps 45 yard line, still the Lions strategy elimi...

Re: Game Day Traditions

Greetings. I'm working on a magazine article on the CFL, and we're doing a short piece on game-day fan traditions for each team. For example, Calgary has the Touchdown Horse and tailgating, Hamilton has the Osi Wa Wa Osi Wee Wee cheer. What are some traditions at the Lions game? You know you're at ...

Re: CFL Week 5 Preview, Odds and Post Game Comments

I also figured all 4 underdogs would win, but since I'm not a gambler I didn't profit from my football knowledge. OTOH I didn't lose $ due to my lack of knowledge on previous incorrect picks.

Re: Mitchell 2-gamed suspended for dirty play

Mitchell's hit was not dirty, he got the penalty because it was after the whistle. He will soon learn that the refs now have their eyes on him.

Re: Lions 34 - Stampeders 8, Post Game Stats and Comments

It is likely going to be a long season for Calgary as they have very few guys on O that can scare you. In fact the only Calgary players on O (not counting linemen) that could start for the Lions are Nik Lewis and Larry Taylor and Lewis is big but no speedster. I was at the game, my first time at McM...

Re: My new jerseys!

I just ordered a #33 Harris from Sports & Stuff and look forward to picking it up next week. I hope it's a slightly darker orange like the players wear. The ones they sell on the concourse at BC Place seem to be a brighter orange. DH  Aren't all the retail jerseys the same jersey whether ...

Re: Mitchell 2-gamed suspended for dirty play

I think anybody that thinks he knows Mitchell intent is just fooling themselves. my comments are true. i guess the truth hurts too much to some of you people. what i can not understand how you all can call yourselves lions fans yet criticize the team and its players. Real team fans support their te...

I hope Mitchell doesn't appeal the suspension. Just accept it and move on.

Re: Eskimos 27 - Lions 14, Post Game Stats and Comments

Since the league is limited in what it can do to punish a player, it would seem appropriate for Benevides to do something like putting Mitchell off the 42 man roster and on the 46 man roster. For how long I honestly don't know what would be appropriate.

Re: Lions Doughnuts

I just drove from Victoria to Kamloops and stopped at the Timmie's in Merrit. The drive thru line up was out to the street and the in store line up was out the door. I don't think they need to do anything to stimulate sales. As I stated a few posts ago: Lions donuts should be made available for purc...

Re: Game Day Thread, Eskimos @ Lions, July 20, 2012

Ralph Sazio, defensive genius of the late 1950s and 1960's TiCats, took Fail-Safe O one step further. Not only did he put most of his best players on D, he kept the O under wraps so to speak. He didn't want the TiCats opponents to get too much film on his O so they would often score with the D and d...
