Re: Leos/Riders Post Game Thoughts

The placekicking situation has to improve. I don't know if anyone else is out there, but I don't think Wally wants to place the Lions' playoff hopes on the foot of a slumping Leone. It's too late in the season to be making changes. We're stuck with Leone the rest of this season and hope his kicking...

Re: Why I Love the CFL

Thanks for posting those Blitz. Canadian football is truly a great game, perhaps the greatest in the world! The NFL, what's so great about it? I find the games pretty tame and conservative compared to the CFL. The NFL's biggest problem is their field size or lack thereof. It's a joke the field is so...

Re: 2016 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

Hey all, So I've recently begun a new job in Vancouver and have to commute every day from Port Coquitlam. Whining about traffic is an over-indulged Vancouver past time, but twice this week my drive in was in excess of two hours because of accidents on the No.1 Hwy (--on a good day it's 45 mins). Wi...

Re: Lions popularity and coverage is heating up all across c

When the CFL has such a great deal with TSN, to the point where Skulsky says they are basically profitable without any gate revenue, it really makes no sense to not lower ticket prices and pack the stadium. Have low ticket prices for children so parents can afford to bring their kids and expose the...

Re: Poor Pre-game Press Coverage

I am gob smacked at the poor pre-game press coverage in the Vancouver Sun. This is not a criticism of Mike Beamish and other football reporters - rather it is a criticism of the Vancouver Sun Sports Page Editors. Last week when the Redblacks were here in Vancouver, I bought the Sun to pick up on so...

Re: 2016 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

if This team does not sell next year to new owners the lions will not be in Vancouver . I realize you're a soccer troll "tom" and only post repeated cryptic comments about the lack of Lions fan support but it's only wishful thinking on your part that the Lions "will not be in Vancouv...

Re: Leos/Calgary Post Game Thoughts

I was surprised by the Stamps pass rush, even rushing only 3 they got through the line and disrupted the QB's timing. It's funny how good a team can look in one game, then how crappy the next game? I guess it mostly boils down to the competition. The Stamps are certainly the class of the league, wit...

Re: 2016 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

They have an aging absentee owner and a president with one foot in retirement. Is it any surprise that their marketing efforts seem half-hearted or out of touch?! I must have missed something in regards to Braley selling the team. Last year we heard from Braley the team was on the market (after muc...

Re: 2016 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

Fans also know they can watch all the home games...at home, with blackouts always being lifted regardless of attendance. At one time the CFL thought this would hurt ticket sales, especially their season ticket bases. The Argos have been lifting home blackouts for 30 years or more...with their season...

Re: BC at Calgary. Game Journal and Post Game Comments.

I noticed on several plays in the final 3 minutes the clock did not start until the snap of the ball, not after the ball was spotted and play whistled in (with the previous play ending with an in-bounds whistle.) The Stamps got about an extra minute of playing time to complete their comeback. I'm no...

Re: Calgary @ BC - Game Journal and Post Game Comments

Somebody had asked what happened on that blocked-kick play so I reviewed it. On that goal line "tackle" which prevented the Stamps blocked kick touchdown, it was actually a Calgary player (#26) who ran squarely into his teammate's chest (#36), halting the ball carrier's progress on the 2 y...

Re: Calgary @ BC - Game Journal and Post Game Comments

Re Dave D in his debut ... Tried some tricks. His team lacked resolve. Mark W's front four and blitzes caused his offence lots of trouble. Motion, fakes and alignments. Not a great debut for former quarterback and present HC and OC. It might not be a seamless transition for him. ........... Re the ...

Re: Calgary @ BC - Game Journal and Post Game Comments

While the 3 blocked punts was inexcusable, that should be an easy fix. It's not rocket science, just block the guy in front of you. :bang: I thought Calgary really laid an egg. They had plenty of opportunities to put the Lions away but flubbed it up. I know it's early but that might be indicative of...
