Re: Mitchell 2-gamed suspended for dirty play
The Mitchell hit that I referred to was the one where he got a penalty in the Calgary game not the Esks game. Not all late hits are dirty imo as it is sometimes a timing issue. I didn't say Glenn was a pass receiver, but I was trying to make the point that several plays and situations allow a player...

Re: Six games into the 2012 season, Term 1 Reports
It is tough living up to last season's MOP status especially when Lulay probably shouldn't have won the award. As Geroy Simon said, Jamel Richardson should have been the MOP (with 1700+ receiving yards and several hundred yards ahead of Geroy who was #2), but Richardson wasn't even nominated. Lulay ...

Re: 100 Grey Cups...
The failure of the "Bills in Toronto" series underlines the fact that TO is not a football town. If there were hundreds of thousands of real NFL fans (you know, the ones that BUY tickets) then it wouldn't be such a difficult task to get true football fans to support the Argos. But getting ...

Re: Mitchell 2-gamed suspended for dirty play
Reddick is appealing his fine that he got for tackling Kevin Glenn. Good idea imo since at the time of the tackle Glenn was still carrying out a fake so it was a legal football play. The rules protect a QB after he has thrown a pass, but not after he has handed off the ball, but faking that he stil...

NFL cuts will be happening soon, so Shivers needs to find some KR guys. For now, I would start to use Ianuzzi on at least some of the returns.

Re: Six games into the 2012 season, Term 1 Reports
I pretty much agree with cromartie's ratings except with Lulay is it decision making that is the problem or is it being too conservative and protecting the ball too much and not enough throw the ball deep and let the receiver run to it. Don't worry too much about interceptions because sometimes a lo...

Re: Lions 18 - Argos 9 Post Game Stats and Comments
I only caught the play on radio and they were stumped. Can someone clarify why the punt that hit Owens and was recovered by the Lions was not challenged? There were two Lions standing about 4 yards from Owens where he may have touched the ball (replay shows he didn't touch the ball) so if he had to...

In the CFL, at the 1 yard line, you QB Sneak EVERYTIME...especially when your QB is 6'5"...3 runs in a row is just being stubborn, Chaps needs to be bigger than that... And Harris has to know, at the goal line, you don't cut side ways... I hate hate HATE this thing that everybody does now of r...

Re: Lions 18 - Argos 9 Post Game Stats and Comments
Some of the best tackling by BC in quite some time. On several occasions an Argo caught a 6 or 7 yard pass and was tackled immediately, forcing a punt. Tremendous pressure all game on RR. I recall one play when BC rushed 7 or 8 at RR and hit him just as the ball was released causing a blooper pass. ...

Re: Game Day Thread, August 6, 2012 Lions @ Argos
It's official according to LU: Love in, McKenzie out (actually Yurichuk/Gesse in, I suppose): the Lions indeed have a significant roster change for Monday’s game. The addition of rookie Glenn Love means the Lions will indeed be without Anton McKenzie, whose thigh contusion is improving but not to t...

I'm just glad that Rod Black is in London. He sucks at diving, gymnastics and weightlifting too. Isn't R.B. excellent at covering diving, gymnastics, and weightlifting (and skating in winter)? As in, this should be his full time gig. I hope Matt Devlin is doing the play by play as he has bee...

Re: Interesting admission by Wally....
A couple of things that have changed sort of recently. The hard cap SMS means free agents are available not always due to trailing off of ability, but salary considerations. Also while non-imports from NCAA schools have mostly been high talent, the big surprise lately is the numbers of very talented...

Re: Lions @ Argos, Aug 6, 2012, Preview and Odds
One thing that helps the D give up the least yardage is long, time consuming drives by the O as in the 5 minute and 6 minute plus drives in the second half against Calgary. No wonder the D backs haven't got any interceptions--- they can't get on the field.

Re: Earnest Jackson May Start Against Argos
I'm another one who isn't ready to give up on Tim Brown. Although pro sports is about "What have you done lately", I still remember the first half of the Grey Cup with Lulay struggling a bit with accuracy and Brown giving the Lions good field position throughout the half with his return ga...
