Re: The team will go nowhere with Chap
Do we just copy and paste this thread year to year? Ok, well, here we go again. As I've said more than once, you can double the number of rings we'd have, at a minimum, if we had Burrato rather than Chap. But it is what it is, and let's deal with where we are now. The offensive game plan last night...

Re: TiCats @ Lions Game Day Thread
It is like Chaps get success from plays he doesn't like like a screen and then he believes you can't do it again until the next game or that he 's been told after game 1 to run it, so he does - once! Mallett had success as a receiver in the second half, especially in the hurry-up offence, but the L...

Re: BC Place
They are there to melt any snow off the roof this coming winter. Larry is right. A transplanted ST Holder that now sits behind me (can't remember his name) told me last night it is for de-icing the roof. He apparently is an engineer and had a hand in installing the system. Not that it will be neede...

Re: Ticats 31 - Lions 28 - Post Game Stats and Comments
This debate between the Javy critics and Javy loyalists will go on as long as Javy and/or Wally are with the team, and that will probably be a fairly long time. Yes, I guess that debate helps keep things interesting. As for the battle for starter's job in 2006, I watched it closely from the end zon...

Re: The team will go nowhere with Chap
While the penalties hurt, Buck was either off on others, or they simply weren't a very good call for game management. Playing not to lose is not playing up to our potential, ultimately that falls upon the HC, IMHO. Agreed. Wally doesn't care about blowout victories. He likes to get a lead and prese...

Re: The team will go nowhere with Chap
What the Lions do need is an additional observer that has some clout on the sidelines/booth to alter the Lions ineffective attack and help with the game management. Or did I just suggest that the Lions need a HC? Perhaps at a point of rather saying that what is obvious to us all game in game out (C...

Re: TiCats @ Lions Game Day Thread
Tackling starts with the MLB....and when your MLB is Javy Glatt, that's all you need to know. How pathetic was his attempt to bring down Cobb? You'd think that after being beat on coverage (as per usual he was in a chase position) Glatt would do everythig he could to make the tackle. But instead we...

Re: Jamall Johnson
Jamall Johnson. Middle Linebacker. Run stopper. Never given a chance in B.C. Someone else got that job. 'nuff said. Jamall Johnson never did much in B.C. when he got to play, and he clearly lost out when he had a chance at a starting job. I'm happy for him that he is getting to start, and Hamilton ...

Re: TiCats @ Lions Game Day Thread
The Lions are giving away a sweet "2009 season opener" cap to the first 5,000 fans. It's orange and white with the black paw print. I got one in advance and my daughter claimed it. I'm going to be sure to get there early tonight to get another one.

Re: TiCats @ Lions Game Day Thread
Unlike some fans, Wally also doesn't get too down after a loss or too pumped up after a win. He believes in his team. He just goes out and focuses on fixing what needs fixing and doing what's needed to win the next week.

Scary indeed. I'd be happy as a Lions fan to see him in the starting lineup next week.korey&dante4ever wrote:

Re: Matt Carter walks out on Lions
Lowell Ullrich adds more details on Carter's reasons for leaving the team: Carter, by the way, didn't leave the Lions in a huff, as portrayed elsewhere in cyberspace, but owing to a serious illness in his immediate family. Word is he also plans to enroll back at Acadia, which would ensure his avilab...

This is a tough crowd. Lose a game and fans demand changes in the roster and coaching staff. Come to think of it, some people here demand changes in the coaching staff even when the Lions win.

Re: Matt Carter walks out on Lions
I notice the Lions have added Ebell and Heerspink to the practice roster but they haven't deleted Carter. They now show eight players there, which may be allowed if Harris is exempt as a junior.
