Re: Empire Today

I drive past there every day but have never seen anyone using the field and didn't know if it was completely fenced off. The image you posted suggests that pedestrian access is allowed. Do soccer players use the field?

Re: And the name of BC Place is...

According the Vancouver Sun, Pavco is now threatening legal action against the Whitecaps and Bell if they continue using the Bell Pitch name. Apparently Pavco has been issuing cease-and-desist orders for the past year, to no avail. It's no wonder the Telus deal fell through. Here's a quote from Pavc...

Dan McCullough retires, other transactions

The Lions will have a new long-snapper this year. Dan McCulluogh, who has held the job for the past four seasons, has retired to pursue business interests. The Lions re-signed Sean Ortiz, who previously battled McCulough for the job before being released and spending time with Montreal. Also, J.R. R...

Re: And the name of BC Place is...

I was listening tonight to Team radio promote the opening game of the Whitecaps season Saturday fom Bell Pitch. How can you expect anyone to respect a stadium name when one tenant's corporate sponsor makes up its own name without paying for it? Maybe the Lions should promote their home stadium as th...

Re: Brent Johnson retiring

I agree SP about the compensation...its a hard pill to swallow...in fact, I just don't understand or agree with this new policy about imports returning from even just a try out in the NFL...Foley should have been the property of the Lions in my opinion...had Foley plainly stated that he wouldn't pl...

Agreed. The silver and black uniforms remind me too much of the Joe Kapp era in the early '90s. Pick a colour scheme. Stick with it for generations.

Re: E-camp update

There are also some really physically gifted Cb's in this draft class, when a guy is hitting 10 ft on the long jump, he is quite explosive. True. And some of the guys putting up the most impressive results were late additions to the E-camp who might not have received much draft attention otherwise....

Re: Proposed rule changes 2012

I like the changes. The helmet rule in particular will hopefully motivate manufacturers, chinstrap suppliers, equipment managers and players to do a better job of keeping helmets buckled up so they don't pop off during plays. Having plays blown dead and players deemed ineligible to partipate if thei...

E-camp update

I'm watching the updated testing results from the CFL E-camp this weekend in Toronto. Two DL prospects in particular that I'm watching are Michael Van Praet from Western and Seamus Postuma from Windsor. Both are powerful 300-pound nose tackles who have been OUA all-stars and could eventually fit int...

My thought exactly. I replayed it several times but it was hard to see.

Re: individual game ticket question

Lions' president Dennis Skulsky is among those who would like to get an early start on single-game ticket sales, but the league prevents sales before June, according to an interesting blog post by LU: Ticket to ride The business of selling a game ticket would seem to be a straight-forward process. Y...

Re: Just Purchased a Lulay Autograph!

This is a Lions team we can all be proud of. On AND off the field. Just read this morning that Travis is donating his MOP money - $10,000 - to a local women's shelter where his wife volunteers. Class act. I sure hope we can lock Travis up long term. :cr: DH  Lulay and his wife are also...

Re: Corey Leonard

The Lions liked Leonard so much they stashed him on the nine-game injured list all last season to keep him from getting away. Jarious Jackson was released in the offseason to get Leonard on the active roster. Lulay, Reilly and Leonard head into 2012 as a solid 1-2-3 on the depth chart, with one more...

Re: Paul McCallum Named B.C.s Best Athlete

What a great honour. I wouldn't describe McCallum as athletic but he just came off the best season that any CFL kicker has ever had. His age makes his accomplishments even more amazing. Congratulations.
