Re: Training camp 2013 thread
According to LU, Awasom a "passport issue." Apparently he has never crossed the border. He was signed by the Argos after the Grey Cup.

Training camp 2013 thread
Three-day rookie camp ended Saturday and training camp began with the first team meeting. The Lions shook things up after rookie camp with the release of backup strong-armed QB Jarrett Brown and non-import RB Jide Shinaba the suspension of DL Adrian Awasom, who was obtained from the Argos in the Kha...

Re: Which player will have the most receiving yards in 2013?
Johnson was released last year shortly after coming back from his arm injury. The Lions liked the size of Ernest Jackson better. Johnson was picked up by Saskatchewan. He's still on their roster heading into training camp.lfpeterson64 wrote:What ever happened to Kiere Johnson?

Re: Lulay eager to get started - Cdn Press
Lulay performed well in both seasons. The only real difference was that he started two fewer games in 2012. Many other numbers, including passing yards and TDs per game, were almost identical, while his passer rating and completion percentage improved in 2012. The Lions' turnaround in 2011 was enti...

Re: Lulay eager to get started - Cdn Press
You win the GC and everything looks better. But you do have to add to 2011 season the terrible start under JC's O scheme, if you eliminate those first 6 or 7 games out of that equation, and recall how 2011 finished, it was a much better season for Lulay. Well at least the way I see it. Lulay perfor...

Re: Which player will have the most receiving yards in 2013?
Good question, David. It all depends on where they line up. Those closest to the QB (generally Moore and Taylor, by the sounds of it) should get the most yards because they'll get the most opportunities. I voted for Moore since he's taking over Geroy Simon's position. He should lead the team in yard...

Re: Nooooooooo!!!!!
Ziggy and Dano T are right. No one worries about the ads on fields in a game along the hockey boards. I don't turn off European and Eng. Prem soccer when I see ads on the boards that are moving. It is not important to the game. Agreed. Sponsors may not like it, but people become so accustomed to ad...

Re: Mike Beamish: 5 Rookies to Watch
This was a helpful article. A DB who spent four years bouncing around NFL teams and runs a 4.3 will be interesting to watch.SammyGreene wrote:Will be interesting to see where Parks ends up on the depth chart and if he will push Josh Bell. Four years bouncing around NFL teams so he is no raw rookie.

Re: Battles aplenty expected at Lions camp - CFL Staff
Heated battles at a Lions' camp? Sorry, that just doesn't happen. The GM and coaches know who they want as starters. They've already said that Moore, Taylor and Gore will be three starting receivers. Recently signed Arceneaux will be the fourth. The coaches have said that Norman and Kabongo will fi...

Re: Battles aplenty expected at Lions camp - CFL Staff
With limited contact and limited reps in training camp and preseason, coaches generally don't have enough information to change their minds on a projected starter. The Lions' starters are all veterans whose abilities are well known to the coaches. It's usually easy to see which rookies have potentia...

Agreed. He should be a lock for short-yardage duties. But he first must beat out either DeMarco or Elliott for a roster spot.korey&dante4ever wrote:Is there a more intriguing prospect than jarrett brown?

Re: CFL Draft Thread for May 6, 2013 ... Picks & Comments
I see on the Lions' roster that Cameron Thorn is listed as a DT. I believe he most recently played O Line. So are the Lions looking at him as potential backup to Westerman in D Line? He is a long snapper too. Chance to make the roster? Thorn played on the defensive line at Guelph and was listed as ...

Re: Leos Close to Signing Fabien
Yeah, its a good signing, because we need this (on a couple of fronts)...Fabien will be asked to compete at Guard this season, but you have to believe the Lions see him as the RT of the future...maybe next year...Olafoye moves to LT and we become less import dependant on the OLine. Agreed. Fabien a...

Re: Nooooooooo!!!!!
It's just that patches on home and away jerseys scream 'minor league' to me. Tell that to Manchester United or any European soccer team. Their players and fans are walking billboards for beer and cellphone companies, banks and anyone else whose logos appear in place of club names or player numbers ...
