Re: Lions at Elks Sept. 22, 2023
The game has changed over the past 10 years. Teams seem to deploy undersized linebackers to help out in pass defence. These linebackers are faster and are able to contain the smaller backs with their speed. (Especially if the smaller back hesitates before hitting the hole). If you want to be able t...

Re: logo/helmet history
I have many game worn BC Lions helmets including one from the 80’s. When I bought this one ( from a reputable online collectable store ) it came advertised as game worn. It has all of the same padding , stickers etc as my fully authentic one. It was hard to tell from the online pics that the colour...

Re: Thursday Night Football Scheduling Conundrum
Adding a team to the East Division would allow the league to shorten the season by two weeks and still give every team a bye. That would solve the early-season scheduling conflicts. I prefer starting the season later and ending it at the traditional time on the last Sunday in November. The league i...

Re: Thursday Night Football Scheduling Conundrum
Nice breakdown, Hambone. I agree it’s suicide to ho head to head with the Stanley Cup and NBA playoffs. The latter is especially true when the Raptors are in contention. It’s hard enough to get media attention on the CFL when there’s little competition, and that applies to drawing fans into stadium...

Re: Thursday Night Football Scheduling Conundrum
Can someone tell me who in the CFL offices thought it would be a good idea to schedule CFL games on a Thursday? -The CFL is not the NFL, who can schedule a game any day they want. -There is no NHL or NFL during the summer, so take advantage and schedule one or two CFL games on Sunday during July an...

Re: Lions move business operations downtown
It more that they need a presence downtown. Just a physical location during the season you can buy gear. Like a one of those 2 story brownstones on Betty that’s office space on top and retail on bottom. You could run business on top, and online / some retail during season, open it fully on game days...

Re: Lions move business operations downtown
Honestly, you really have to question bclions decision to move business operations to downtown financial district.
Wouldn’t be better to get cheaper brownstone on Beatty with retail level. Which you would open up on game days as a team store.

Re: Lions move business operations downtown
In the end, I see lions staying and upgrading their facility and Surrey upgrading tom binnie as well (hopefully with a roof over top) which would also appeal to groups that use it for non lion times. Also the city seems committed to athletic parks around there with towers going up in the area.

Re: Lions at Argos July 3, 2023
That is a bit of a concern David. I don't know the exact protocols but would think that if Broxton was more doubtful than probable they would suit up a 7th OL. They do have Schleuger stashed on the 1G. He's an experienced CFL tackle. I'm wondering if they are allowed a last minute injury substituti...

Re: Antonio Williams gone
I wonder if Williams was reluctant to go on the practice roster. Maybe asked for his release? Seemed like a good guy when I heard him interviewed. But NFL pedigree, I can't say I would be surprised if he did ask for his release. DH  Seems to be lions decision, want a certain type of back for ...

Going out to ubc was a mistake by caps. Basically ignored there.

Re: Lions move business operations downtown
I wonder how long it will take for the club to announce a new practice compound. I am willing to bet this will be within 5 years, 6 max, that they will jump ship from Whalley to be either in Van or Bby. Something with an indoor component to bring those soggy late October through November practices ...
