Re: Cleo Lemon Cut By Argos

I believe he was hamstrung to a certain extent by a lousy coordinator and an (at best) average receiving corps. DH  You are talking about the Argos here right? and not another Braley-owned team who's receivers and OC didn't exactly have the faithful all cheery at the beginning of the season?

Re: Argos want to host Ticats at Labour Day classic

I was listening to the Stampeder broadcast crew for latter parts of the game. They too opined the Stampeder/Eskimo rivalry might not be what it used to be and that Saskatchewan had perhaps supplanted the Esks as Calgary's most bitter rival due in part to the significant presence of Rider fans at Mc...

How much of our D shows allegiance to Dave Ritchie anymore?

Re: Calling Armchair coaches

Well not quite the result we wanted. 18-6 for the bad guys. First play on D the speed guy I was worried about ran outside the tackle and our OLB, DE and MLB were all caught sleeping and he was gone to the endzone. Second play on D and the same guys did the same thing, this time our FS was nowhere to...

Re: Calling Armchair coaches

Thanks for the feedback guys. At practice tonight I really tried the 4-3-2 mentioned (a variation of WCJ's 4-2-2 as i have an extra player). I have some really undersized players. The Head Coach and I have a philosophy that everyone has a starting position (we only have 17 players on the roster). Th...

Re: Lions @ Argonauts, Pre Game Odds and Comments

Not to raise the ugly spectre of "fix" in the CFL, but if you are David Braley which of your two teams do you want to win this game (or even the next)? For me it's a no brainer - I need the Argos to win. Attendance is lousy and the product seems to be lousy in TO. In BC I have the last gam...

Calling Armchair coaches

Ok armchair coaches ... I have been "persuaded" to coach Junior Bantam community football this year. We are playing 9 man ball. The team we are up against on Wednesday night has one player who is quite speedy (fastest kid in the league) and very slippery. Apparently they also have a QB tha...

Re: a few grafx for this season

Guess I don't have to redo these graphics this season. A year later and they still seem to hold meaning.

The more things change .... ahh no they don't. :tease:

Re: Lions @ Eskimos -- Pre Game Odds and Comments

... What I mean by that is Caravetta was on his weekly Connected Slot last night. He was talking about how the teams confidence is just shot, like they are ready/waiting for the next fumble/stumble/screwup. I think that was very much evident at the Bombers game last week. For me the turning point i...

Re: Peterson out, Jackson in ... Mike Beamish

So at the beginning of Training Camp we sign Peterson on a "trial" basis as a potential back up for Paris Jackson who came into camp with a sore knee/ankle. The few times I have seen Paris take reps, even my brother-in-law who doesn't watch much football noticed that Paris was labouring an...

Or not much reading this week.
Maybe they like to re-read the same short story over and over. Afterall it had to be good reading the last couple of years and not much has changed since.

Re: Coming to the Game Aug 13

Ended up going to Ticketexchange from the website to get decent tix. Don't think the coupons would have worked there.

As for not going to games ... i was told an interesting tale about your attendance, Rammer at the tailgate ...

Coming to the Game Aug 13

Ok so I have broken the bank and bought some tix for the game on Aug 13. (hard to believe at one point tickets at the 20 yrd line cost me roughly $20 each at one point, now it is $90). But we are driving (from Richmond probably), so the million dollar question is where is parking and where do people...

Re: Travis Lulay talk and opinions

Lulay's competitive nature is his own worst enemy during the losing streak. He gets too wound up and, as a result, forces the ball or overthrows receivers at key points in the game, especially in the dying minutes. He needs to relax. It's confidence. He had plenty of it last year and at the start o...

Re: Congratulations to the new All-Time Loser

 There has been years worth of this discussion on here about that. Funniest part is gathering from what your concerns are is that the Lions bank on the opposition not being able to execute properly, while the coaching staff insists that it is the Lion players lack of execution that costs them ...
