Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
Not sure what kind of market there could be for a #2 with Streveler signing for $120,000. Shiltz or Cornelius would be a good additions. Shiltz may be a bit more accurate, Cornelius may have more upside. Either one at $120,000 would be a great deal. Either one should be in that range. I think Shilt...

Re: What the 2026 World Cup means for the Leos
Yes, unless the Lions want to schedule the preseason game and one early regular season game in Victoria. I just hope they don’t move training camp to the Island as well.

Re: What the 2026 World Cup means for the Leos
The 2026 World Cup schedule has been released, with five group matches scheduled for B.C. Place between June 13 and 26, as well as one in the round of 32 on July 2 and one in the round of 16 on July 9. Depending on how long it would take to convert B.C. Place from soccer to football, the Lions could...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
David Knevel has signed a one-year extension. The Lions have been busy on the eve of the legal tampering window. I've always liked Knevel. He’s the biggest player on the team, and is always friendly to talk to, despite some hard luck with injuries that hurt his opportunities to become a full-time st...

Re: RIP Carl Weathers
I certainly remember his tenure with the Lions, as I had seasons tickets at the time. He always seemed to be proud of his time here whenever it was brought up, especially when he returned to town to film Rocky IV and other movies.

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
Looking at the CFL transactions list, it appears that Vernon Adams, Garry Peters and TJ Lee have all renegotiated.

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
Rick Campbell and Neil McEvoy took questions from the media Tuesday about free agency. Campbell said the team's priority is to re-sign all of its free agents, including Mathieu Betts. Campbell and McEvoy both said they think Betts wants to be here. Campbell sounded more optimistic than McEvoy about ...

Re: 2024 B.C. Lions Schedule
Kind of an odd thought and wondering if it would work to schedule a complete bye week in week nine or ten and fill the void with a skills style competition similar to what they did years ago. It would all have to be non contact and so forth but fun for the fans to know who the fastest, strongest pl...

Re: Re:
A pretty decent podcast interview with Rick Campbell who gives an update where the Lions are as free agency nears. Says there are six more players they would still like to re-sign among their 15 remaining FAs. Of course a back-up QB will be #1 on their shopping list if nothing happens sooner. https...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
The tight operating margins in the CFL already require GMs to be prudent managers of the SMS. Players know they have to produce to be paid. I much prefer the football system over that of other sports, where teams are often burdened with fulfilling bad contracts long after the player’s value has dimi...

Re: Should CFL teams retire numbers of stars?
I don't care one way or another, but I think the Ring of Honour in the stadium carries more recognition than a retired number. The Lions have retired 10 numbers. That's a lot, when you consider each retired number means another number has to be duplicated when 100 players take to the field in traini...
