Re: Lulay's Streak Intact

I like Lulay, but part of the challenge and accomplishment of a streak like this is staying healthy. I don't care for the ruling.

Re: Is it Just Me?

I have heard that the shotgun snap makes things look worse than they are. With the shotgun, we aren't as aware of when the ball is actually snapped, and judge it to be a bit later than it really is. Makes some sense.

I do think receivers are given some leeway.

Re: Official NFL Thread 2012 - 2013

This shi#storm doesn't happen with Tagliabue at the helm.

Goodell has been a hard-liner on everything since he came in. I would imagine tomorrow that he no longer has the support of the owners on this one.

Randall Cuningham once managed 91 yards on a quick kick.

Re: Why only one kicking specialist in Canton?

I think the problem with kickers and punters in the NFL is that the PFHoF is very hard to get into, and the very best K/P are only marginally better than the next level of players. I know Ray Guy was known for booming his punts, but several old timers say he outkicked his coverage and kicked for gro...

Re: CFL Pet Peeve No. 1

I've never been a fan of the crossover. The CFL is an east west competition. Keep it that way. Otherwise, may as well just have a complete ranking and put the top 6 in the playoffs. I look at that as a necessary evil. I think there have been occasions when a 4 win team in the East would make the pl...

Re: CFL Pet Peeve No. 1

getting a point on a missed field goal and on a punt un returned from the endzone I see this as a feature of the Canadian game that puts an added premium on field position. Don't wanna give up a single? Simple — just make sure you don't let the other team get deep enough to kick the ball into the e...

Re: Solomon Elimimiam and Adam Bighill

When Elimimian went to the Vikings, I thought that he would likely be regarded as a little too small, at 230 lbs., for linebacker in the NFL. It's seemed that most NFL 'backers are in the 250 range. However, after learning the other night that Ray Lewis dropped 30 lbs. to get to 230, my view on thi...

Re: Behavior Guidelines for Dez Bryant in place ...

WCJ I know you are a Parcells fan, but he was no better than Jerry in Dallas. Drafted the likes of Bobby Carpenter and Anthony Fasano, and lobbied against the pick of De Marcus Ware. He also kept Romo on the bench behind Bledsoe when it was clear to everyone that Romo was better. Parcells brought so...

Re: Behavior Guidelines for Dez Bryant in place ...

Sometimes you can't win. Jones was ridiculed for passing on Randy Moss. As for Owens, he is beyond strange. I think he has serious mental health issues. I follow the Cowboys closely and I am certain that suicide attempt that he denied was in fact real. Owens had a very strange upbringing, and never ...

The Lions have to be very disappointed with their attendance. I think Ackles deft touch is missed - he helped create some buzz around the team.

Re: Adam Scott fades down the stretch, loses the British Ope

Els is blowing off the pro-am, but is expected to still make it to Ancaster. I don't begrudge that. He wanted to celebrate with his family, and the win was somewhat unexpected at this stage in his career. Ernie is a class act imo, and I was thrilled for him yesterday. This gets him back into the Mas...

Re: Missed Field Goals. How can we prevent those long return

I'd be worried about blocks with a DL blocking. Those can come back for 6 in a hurry as well.

Maybe between the 40-50 you do more punting and run your offence in more 3rd and less than 5 situations.

Re: Ticket Prices / Lions' Marketing

The problem with underwhelming attendance is it creates negative momentum. For many fans, say who normally attend 2-6 games per season, it is more fun with a bigger crowd. The stadium has more atmosphere, the event has more energy, etc. Many of us have been in the stadium during the dark days and it...

I assume at the very least Suitor's kid is not involved? I bet his dad lobbied for him.
