Re: TSN all-time Lions team

I would replace Jamie Taras with Rob Murphy.

Re: Commissioners Office

Maybe they are all unpaid volunteers. Apparently not Ambrosie. $750,000 + Qualifies as a private corporation for reporting purposes though so we know what the accountants tell us. You might be overpaying your commissioner and his too large staff when 3 out of a 9 team league, in the 3 largest citie...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

The XFL’s assets are all up for sale, including the league and team names, uniforms and equipment. There are odds on several potential buyers, including the CFL at +1,000. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/sportsbetting.legal/news/xfl-sale-betting-odds/amp/ I am not a betting guy so I assumed that +1,000...

Re: Eskimos: change your name

Seattle's NHL team is going to be called Kraken. Krack for short, I guess. Kinda fits in with the consumption practices of Chaz/Chop crowd along with Seattle's large homeless crowd. And then there will be the opposing fans chanting "Krack is Crap" or "Hey Krack, Blow it Out Your Nose". Don't these m...

Re: If No Season will the CFL fold

If the CFLPA makes the claim that the players are free agents, then what would prevent the league from expanding the negotiation list to include all players who were formerly under contract, now on team's list and free to negotiate with that team only? The CBA would prevent it. They'd have to negot...

Re: Simulated CFL Games

Rod Pederson's Play by Play makes the CFL Sim games watchable (I never thought I would ever say that) because the players nameplate on the jerseys are too small to read and there is no depth chart available.

No where near enough running plays or replays.

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

I predicted back in March that there wouldn't be a CFL season.

Some time later, Lions owner made a statement that he was not in favour of games that did not include at least some fans in the stands.

I don't think that the Lions have changed their stance and so neither have I.

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

If players catch the virus during the HUB Season, then what happens?
The HUB Season is a risky venture that will likely break even financially for teams, at best.
I'm guessing the CFL goes with no season in 2020.

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

I don't know if it has been discussed elsewhere, but Gary Bettman and the NHL have eliminated Vancouver has a possible NHL Hub City. I suspect that Bettman's ego as well as his and the NHL's business acumen expected the city to accept the NHL Hub Plan with just some government and health authority s...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

I predicted back in late March or early April that there would be no CFL season in 2020. I still believe that, and I believe that by Sept we will be neck deep in a second wave of the virus such that the border will still be closed. A 2021 season will depend on a vaccine being available and a CFLPA t...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

You can't expect the new owners of the Als to agree to starting their ownership with a half season and no fans in attendance. I was under the impression that the Redblacks were a success in Ottawa but with a CFL team financial success is difficult to sustain so I should not be surprised with them no...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

The red flag for me was Bill Baker's suggestion of BC Place as a possible site for the 2020 GC. I guess he doesn't know that BC Place is indoors (the hole in the roof opening doesn't do much) and that is the worst place for crowds to gather. And then there is the GC Week partying...Bill Baker just d...

Re: Lions' offseason depth chart

IMO, the two starting LBs will be Williams and Haynes, If they go with 3 CDN receivers and 3 CDNs on the O line, then the Lions can go with Williams as the only starting CDN on D.
