re Bret Anderson

Like most of us here, I am an Anderson fan. It goes back to his high school days. He was maybe even better at basketball than football. He was the Most Valuable Player when his team won the BC basketball championship in his grade 12 year. I saw every one of his games that tournament. In the final ga...

LOL

Too funny!

As I head out for a run, I am thinking about training camp, cutting down the roster, etc. .......

What is the most dreaded phrase at TC?

"Hey Kid, Coach wants to see you ... Oh, yeah, and bring your play book."

by the way, has anyone read the old classic: "Paper Lion" by George Plimpton? .... a great book about his Ian Walker type training camp with the Detroit Lions in the 1960s. In the book they called the roster cut down night "the night of the squeaky shoes" as the messenger with bad news would come do...

LOL ... Yo, Coach Blitz ... I will run the gassers. It was good fun picking the list. Though I gotta say, how about you leaving Pottinger and Anderson off your original list? That could be worth a couple of gassers. Here is the list of the 42 I sent in. Maybe it should have included the extra 4 for ...

Good post re "The Wrecking Crew" thank you, it was very interesting and entertaining When Geroy and Jason are catching and running it is easy to overlook the hogs in the line. But these guys are worth watching. It's obvious now what a great move Wally made going to the American tackles. Wally does s...

Yup ... regarding J. Jackson and trading for draft picks, it might be a good idea to trade longer term. We have had so many good drafts with Wally that it is hard to see 3 or 4 guys continuing to make the squad each year from the Canadian draft. Valli, Pottinger, Foley, Lindstrom and Hameister-Rhys ...

Wally is always willing to trade a useful but unused backup for high draft picks. And so, here are the Lions who are trade bait: Jarious Jackson, Josh Boden and Rob Pikula. I think Wally would like to keep Pikula until McCallum retires but slavery is illegal the last time I checked and McCallum may ...

plus, with the extra 4 spots on the "active" roster should be room for Smart and Hannah and keep Andrew Jones for development as well.

that is amazing ... on the face of it, it sounds like a great development -- more exposure, more revenue, grow the league, etc. But ya never know. Expansion to the US seemed like a good idea at the time. Right now the CFL is as good as I ever remember it being. Wide open, great athletes, attack styl...
