Re: Who are your Top 5 Favourite B.C. Lions?

It's hard to pick 5 and for me it might have been better if it was divided into segments like eras, nationals etc. Like others here say favourites might not be the best and of course I'm biased as I know some or worked with them. 1. Sonny Homer - North Van kid who I last saw when he and Jim Sandusky...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Nice joke lol.. and laughs are needed these days. Very sad for those who are sick or have lost loved ones or have family in seniors care these days as these folks are basically imprisoned and can't get out. BC is doing our part and we should be proud as Canadians that our governments of all politica...

Re: Doug Flutie with bclions.com!

Great interview. Nice to see his trophy room and the collection of helmets, trophies and shirts. One of the times he was here for Grey Cup in Canada he said that when he comes to Canada anywhere he feels at home but at NFL events he felt like an outsider. The other guy like him who is effusive in hi...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

David - thanks for the friendly and helpful tips. Very definitely it will get you down if you listen to broadcasts of the pandemic day and night! The one thing that might not fit for us in Canada is not to listen to politicians. Elected leaders - our PM and the Premiers of Canada of all political pe...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

just goes to show that politically speaking, even china can do something right once in a while https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/to-slow-virus-china-bars-entry-by-almost-all-foreigners/ar-BB11Mg3p?ocid=spartanntp If only every country had done this right from the beginning, as I was wishing they...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

This is an interesting story of COVID-19 on a cruise ship featuring none other than CFL referee Al Bradbury. Interesting that the writer doesn't identify him by his profession, yet tens of thousands of Canadians likely recognize him as the big "average Joe" looking guy in black and white stripes. D...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

It's hard to speculate too much on precise timing of this being done until we see if these latest moves - social distancing - closing gathering places - all works. IF it does we could be more normal in May-June but as others note the lag/fear effect will take a toll for sometime.

Re: Off-season / FA sigings & losses and draft implications

Duron Carter got kudos from Bombers Willie Jefferson recently when some fan said he was washed up. Jefferson said to ignore the guy as 'we all know what you can do in the right situation' ! My sentiments exactly. Not sure why you keep beating this dead horse. He has played on 4 teams. Was released ...

Re: BC Lions 2019: Upon Further Review Column by Marshall Ferguson

I’ve said this before and I believe the scatter chart reinforces it. Jairous Jackson the OC designs offenses around the strengths of Jarious Jackson the QB, rather than the QB he has. I wish him luck at his next destination, but I’m not sad he wasn’t retained. Hard to argue with this when it comes ...

BC Lions 2019: Upon Further Review Column by Marshall Ferguson

Thanks to Gridiron Ernie for posting this earlier.

I think this deserves a thread of its own though as last season on offence shows clearly what was the issue in BC.

Now Toronto has the problem. haha

Marshall Ferguson dissects the Lions of 2019 in this detailed article featuring some interesting charts and graphs. https://www.cfl.ca/2020/02/17/upon-review-bc-lions/ This article deserves a thread of its own. Not buried here as it's brilliant. Good analysis for sure but overall the blame has to b...

Re: BC Lions Free Agents Signings & Signings around the CFL

Hambone that is a great summary and overview of where they are at these days. Restructuring QB contract is interesting given that this same GM was the one who created this need just a season back. Not sure how these teams feel they can grow the game with near invisible profiles in leadership roles. ...

Re: BC Lions Free Agents Signings & Signings around the CFL

Lions sign Kenny Ladler. Huge signing for our secondary. That sounds like a very exciting signing and I'm assuming the low mileage over the last two seasons might be a benefit. Top 40 left out there: https://3downnation.com/2020/02/25/top-40-remaining-cfl-free-agents/ I agree sort of with the guy w...

Re: BC Lions Free Agents Signings & Signings around the CFL

did i understand the derel walker comment correctly? because of salary caps being tapped out, he may have to sign for league minimum?.. or has new higher league minimum squeezed out alot of dollars that could go to stars? as per jefferson and winnipeg, winnipeg has a bad reputation but anyone who a...

The GM has put BC in a weaker position with too much cash at the QB position. Unless Campbell can coach these guys up to play over their heads and get rid of that JJ offence, the Lions have to rely on other team's failing to do anything serious over the next year or more. Derel Walker they say on TS...
