Re: QB, now what?

Gale is a much better option than Alex Ross if anything happens to Jennings. Ross hasn't had many snaps but he looks lost and doesn't do anything to inspire confidence.

Re: Stampeders 27 - Lions 13, Post-Stats and Comments

Thanks for the breakdowns, WCJ. I had intended to go through the PVR and try to get a sense of what type of pressure the Stamps were bringing and why Jennings was having trouble dealing with it, but I just haven't yet brought myself to watch the game again. A positive sign is that the Stamps had fou...

Re: Bazzie signs with Lions

I'm not impressed with the use of Craig Roh at defensive tackle on passing plays. He twists and turns but just bounces off big linemen and doesn't get any penetration. There's also little if any stunting on the D-line. I like the use of Menard as a pass-rush specialist off the edge on second down bu...

Re: Als hire Ken Miller as offensive consultant

Any discussion about fixing the B.C. offence must begin and end with Jonathon Jennings. Any offence can be tweaked but the problem this year is that Jennings has not been executing the offence in the way Travis Lulay has. Consider some of the evidence: In the 7 games in which Jennings has played the...

Re: Stampeders 27 - Lions 13, Post-Stats and Comments

".....That was primarily Jennings hanging on to the ball too long." "This game proves that he still has a lot to learn, especially against top divisional opponents who know his tendencies and weaknesses." So how does he unlearn these tendencies? Because at this moment JJ10 seems stuck in a loop tha...

Re: CFL Games of Week 13, September 15 - 17

Reilly gets hit in the face mask in the dying minutes and no penalty. My question for those in the know: Is there a difference in the rules between hitting a QB in the helmet vs. hit in the face mask.? No. The rule book defines "any blow above the passer’s shoulder" as roughing the passer. If the i...

Re: B.C. at Calgary Sept. 16, 2017

Lulay would had us in that game. Yes Jennings was pressured, but he was gunshy. A good QB is usually the difference between winning and losing in this league. Lulay has the highest QB rating in the league this year. Jennings has the lowest, and the differences are more pronounced when under pressur...

Re: Stampeders 27 - Lions 13, Post-Stats and Comments

This was a defensive struggle. The difference was quarterbacking, although you might not know at first glance by looking at the stats. Bo Levi Mitchell completed just 16 of 31 passes (51.6%), almost identical to his numbers in the first meeting between these teams (15 of 31) and also almost identica...

Messam hit late, his head snapped hard. Looks like a concussion type hit and wasn't necessary.
League fine come Awe's way for sure. That was reckless.
Agreed. Lions were lucky he wasn't penalized.

He looks confused and indecisive on almost every passing play.
Yes. The Stamps are taking away his first read. He then panicks, holds the ball too long and gets pressured or sacked. He's just not seeing the field well.

Roh win a huge sack on a 3-man rush. D-line is playing well.

The BC O-line IS bad. Not just look bad.
I think the O-line is playing well, especially since Foucault is starting his first game at right tackle. I don't know if any of the Calgary sacks can be blamed on the O-line.
