Re: Potential New Receivers for BC

How about selling more tickets and giving Terrell Owen's a try out? This market would eat it up. 😎

Re: Lions 22 - Alouettes 10 Post-Game Stats and Comments

What I liked the most about the regular season opener was how the Lions held the lead for the entire fourth quarter. The pass rush looks solid. Jennings appears to have a new offense that can help him utilize his talents. His ability to run for yards after the receivers have gotten down field is vit...

Re: New Uniforms next year. Adidas out as Uniform supplier.

They could go to orange socks on the road. Plus give the away jersey's front and back: black numbers some orange edging. This would add a greater level of orange to the away uniforms. Complimenting the orange shoulders plus orange logo on the helmets. Then, give the home orange jersey front and back...

Re: New Uniforms next year. Adidas out as Uniform supplier.

I think the current home jerseys look sharp except that they need to remove the logo from the back of the jersey. Also go to the 1976-77 logo on the current black helmets keeping the facemasks black. Then use the black helmets, with orange center stripe, on the road and the same black pants and sock...

Re: CFL playoff format solution:

Good points guys. The Lions schedule is strange this season. Like why they play two games, in Winnipeg, within a three week stretch? Also these games against Eastern teams, down the stretch, are going to be more difficult to win than in the first half of the season. Hamilton and Ottawa are starting ...
In the era of expansion circa 94 was the east west given any creedence because of all rhe teams to the south. BB
In 1994 the CFL had 12 teams. They had an East and a West Division. Each division had 4 Canadian team...

Re: CFL playoff format solution:

Your symmetrical approach can work too. But the idea of a 4-7-1 team also getting a first round bye adds salt to the wound doesn't It? The quest for a more equitable playoff format is the purpose for changing the playoff system in the first place. For a first round bye to only be awarded to the team...

CFL playoff format solution:

With divisional imbalance we see inequity as to who makes the playoffs and who doesn't. Why not go to this playof format for 2018 and beyond: East and West Division regular season winners seeded #1 & #2 in order of regular season records against each other. Then seed the other 7 teams in order o...

Re: The Curse of the Helmet

The Cardiac Kids were tremendous and those uniforms are the best the Lions have ever worn. The black numbers with white outline are much sharper. The Logo is mean and easier on the eyes from afar and on TV. The uniforms used in 2010 were close but the 1977 Tagge photo is a better jersey with the wid...

Re: Lions Receiving Corps ...

This receiver set is looking excellent now! Arland Bruce was a smart aquisition. Geroy will gain from this. Gore (NI) will be the heroe when Bruce and Geroy are getting the extra attention. Johnson looks like he can get it rolling too. After a couple of early game drops he started to settle down. He...

Re: Now is the time!

This team started to slide the day Bob Ackles passed away. I would also look at the way that the Lions are marketed, yet another aspect of the organization that has gone south since the passing of Bobby Ackles. Where are the lunchboxes / backpack / bobble head giveaways that were a staple of the Li...

Re: Now is the time!

Despite Vancouverites feeling all warm and gooey about our place on the world map after successfully hosting a Winter Olympics, there is virtually no strong argument for the NFL to put a team here. We're about the 24th ranked North American media market, have a low corporate base, a stadium that wo...

5-13 might be good enough for the final playoff spot this season. Where did the CFL's middle class go?

Re: Now is the time!

BC Place is not large enough to support NFL minimum requirements, so for Aquilini to pursue NFL ownership, he would likely have to build his own barn or purchase BC Place and make yet more renovations....something that won't happen either way. I think Grey Cup seating capacity is at 52,000 in BC Pl...

Re: Now is the time!

Not to knock you Dominic, but I heard the same thing when Aquilini was trying to buy the Canucks. I would much rather have 1 owner with deep pockets than a consortium of locals. Is there anything wrong with trying to make money? Under Braley my tickets have gone from $17 to $45 in 3 years and the p...
