Re: Training camp 2024

According to CFL.ca transactions BC deleted NAT FB Dylan St.Pierre and transferred AMER LB Forrest Rhyne to the suspended list although both still show on the bclions.com active roster this morning.

Re: CFL News re: TC's 2024- Not BC Lions

While I've mostly considered Weston Dressler as a Rider, he's mulling if he goes into the HOF as a Bomber given that he really felt he grew as a person with the latter. My view is that these guys should go in in the last uniform they played in and not these fake 1 day contracts. Rider fans will be ...

Going to be interesting to see how Amar one-ups the previous 2 years.

Re: Training camp 2024

And Calgary's roster looks to be missing as many starters as BC is bringing. Not unusual for the home team in preseason.

Re: Training camp 2024

Sounds like maybe they're pushing personnel up the depth chart to let them better prepare for playing time on Saturday.

Re: Training camp 2024

As far as I recall, players stayed together in dorms at UBC (late '60s), dorms at Trinity Western University in Langley (early 1990s), a motel in Chilliwack (1990s) and dorms at a bible college in Abbotsford (early 2000s). None of those had the amenities that Kamloops offers, from weather to locker...

Re: Training camp 2024

After clear skies and 30-degree-plus temperatures greeted players on the opening weekend of camp, the weather has been unseasonably cool and damp by Kamloops standards, but it rained only briefly during one practice before the sun reappeared. I attended Lions' camps at UBC, Langley, Chilliwack and ...

Re: Training camp 2024

Whoever was the one to suggest Kamloops as host to Lions training camp had a great idea. Good for the team and good for the community. Win / win and nice to see people having fun. Nice the weather has been good this year for those in attendance. The setup in Kamloops is absolutely purrfect for hold...

The main challenge is keeping my eyes on the field while practice regulars are chatting to me.

Re: Training camp 2024

Interesting on the numbers. Surprised a bit that the holdovers didn't get their same numbers for TC unless prior arrangements were made to accommodate a super star. Funny how since the CFL numbers have changed that that the 70s for REC's aren't as coveted as the 80s. Wasn’t 70 numbers for tight end...

Re: Training camp 2024

B.C. secondary will be one of the best in the league. Peters, Sayles, Evans will literally be hard to beat with good options for the other two spots. They won't need to go National but maybe can if Bagayogo can win the corner job. Kent sounds like a solid player that will stick as well. For the O, ...

Re: Training camp 2024

Has Meyer been doing any of the kick-offs? I always thought the Alouettes/Argos had an advantage when Boris Bede would blast kick-offs down to the goal line or 5 yard line. Most returners aren't making it to the 35 if your cover team is worth its salt. As a sidenote, one battle I want to learn more...

Re: CFL News re: TC's 2024- Not BC Lions

I don't know if adding Arbuckle is a good or bad move by Toronto but it was a necessary move that shouldn't hurt. With next to no CFL experience in the QB room until/if Kelly returns adding a veteran presence into the mix was essential. Unfortunately those options were pretty much restricted to Arbu...

Re: Training camp 2024

Kickers and punters also alternated throughout the scrimmage. Sean Whyte was accurate as usual on placekicks, while Global rookie Carl Meyer missed several attempts but showed everyone his strong leg on two 47-yard attempts at the end of the scrimmage, with fellow players crowded around heckling hi...
