Re: Playoff Thread - Conference Finals

Stampeders coach Dave Dickenson lifted the west division championship trophy, but when offered to his players they all declined it. Let's see in seven days if that's a good omen since the Argonauts players did lift their trophy.

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Richard Sherman is out for the season, and now Kam Chancellor will likely be out too from a neck injury.
The the Seahawks defence depleted now, then no way the team can advance too far in the playoffs assuming they make it to the playoffs. :bang:

Re: Playoff Thread - Edmonton vs. Winnipeg, Ottawa vs. Saskatchewan

I have no problem with the Saskatchewan Roughriders being the first team to win a division final as a crossover team and making it an all west final and stealing this trophy which was only for east division teams. http://l7.alamy.com/zooms/458df8b6c6c844389b323245573c72c7/nov-21-2010-montreal-quebec...

Re: Eskimos: change your name

The answer is simple. Just change it to Edmonton Inuit. They named themselves after the group, so they can still do that, but now go with what is acceptable now Inuit than Eskimo. I doubt they do that, but that is my suggestion. But this will ruin the alliteration and will requite a brand new logo ...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Seahawks win in Arizona but at a huge price....Richard Sherman ruptures his Achilles' tendon and will be out for the rest of the season. :sigh: :surrender: No Super Bowl this season without him? :bawl:

Re: Eskimos: change your name

It's a controversial issue when it comes to sports nicknames associated with certain groups of people and I'd say for the most part, the contemporary group does not mind seem to mind at all. There's the Boston Celtics, but I don't think the Irish-Americans or anyone else who may have Celtic ancestry...

Re: 1998

To set the record straight, the last time the Grey Cup MVP was awarded a Dodge Truck was in 1998 when it was awarded to Jeff Garcia as indicated at 5:03:00. Starting in 1999 even though Chrysler still sponsored the award, it was in the form of $10,000.00 - which is definitely LESS than a typical new...

Re: 2000 Team bonding leads to Grey Cup Win

The underrated and underappreciated 2000 Grey Cup game in its entirely from the pre-game to post-game shows. Maybe I was too quick in what I posted in the 1997 Season thread in that Chrysler Canada still sponsored the Grey Cup player awards ...

The 1997 Grey Cup in its entirely: This was Doug Flutie's last game in the CFL. And this was when Chrysler Canada sponsored the Grey Cup MVP award and gave the winner a brand new Dodge Dakota truck while Canadian Airlines sponsored the MVC a...

Re: Eskimos: change your name

Scrap the name "Warriors, Chiefs, Blackhawks, Braves, Browns, RedBlacks, Indians, Raiders, Hitmen, Pirates, Vikings etc." And while we are at it, lets ban all the mascots that might be offensive. We shouldn't call any leagues "midget" either. Oh and maybe we should remove "Pink" and "Blue" from any...

Re: 2017-18 NFL Season Thread

Anyone else find Seahawks going for two point convert at the end of the game puzzling. They were up by 4 a convert would make it a 5 point advantage. Washington would score so now they are down by 2. A field goal would of won it. I know their kicker was terrible. Same guy who missed in Minny a two ...
