Horrific kickoff collision has likely ended Hinsberger’s career

Great and sad read here on Lions rookie linebacker Lions’ rookie LB Jack Hinsberger and how the horrific collision with Peyton Logan has in all likelihood ended his football career. All seemed well at the time when he was able to walk off the field. Logan apparently fractured a vertebrae in his neck...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents

Great to see Shawn Lemon go out on his own terms albeit surprisingly after signing an extension with the Als back in December. It makes Montreal an even more logical landing spot for Betts if it doesn’t work out in Detroit, especially with their other starting DE from last season — impressive young ...

Re: Lions' receivers

It's pretty funny all the outrage this story has generated one of the Lions fans Facebook groups given this is somewhat old news since Whitehead has been a FA since early February and is free to sign with any team. Dunk probably should have clarified the Lions top 4 receivers were all free agents an...

Re: Lions' receivers

No official announcement yet but it appears the Lions have signed another intriguing receiver prospect in Dezmon Patmon. The 6-foot-4 25-year-old was a 6th round pick by Indianapolis in the 2000 NFL Draft after a couple of productive seasons at Washington State. Was Gardner Minshew's favourite targe...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents

3 Down Nation provide some insight from McElvoy and Campbell on their big free agent offer to Brady Oliveira and how the consolation prize was at least driving up the price for the Bombers. Would have been interesting to see what their roster would look like had he signed here for that price given i...

Re: 2024 B.C. Lions Schedule

Looking at the schedule Lions have a tough first 5 games. Opening in Toronto will not be easy and it will also be important imo to beat Winnipeg in Week 3. Reality is every game will be a dog fight. Shaping up to be a good season though with all teams fairly equal. They deserve a TON of credit for ...

Re: Lions' receivers

Farhan offered some info on the receiver salaries back in January but as you suggested no word if this includes all bonus incentives reached. #BCLions asked Rhymes to restructure his deal, he declined, knowing there will be interest in #CFLFA Hollins deal pays 220 & 230k. Hatcher will make 220 &...

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot

So, likely - vet journeyman Brissett (with way more losses than wins as an NFL starter) gets #1 to mentor and be a stop-gap till the 1st round draft pick is "ready" (hope they don't draft another Ryan Leaf). Leaving Nathan to battle it out with Zappe for #3 / PR guy? Not sure I like Rourk...

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot

So this confirms it’s Rourke and Zappe battling out for #3?

Via Ian Rapoport:
Source: The #Patriots have agreed to terms with QB Jacoby Brissett, who gets $8M on a 1-year deal.

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot

Scratch Mac Jones.from the New England equation. Patriots are reportedly trading him to of all places.....drum roll.... Jacksonville, for a 2024 6th round pick. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39699526/sources-patriots-trade-qb-mac-jones-jaguars Damn so all season long we heard Doug Pederson sa...

Re: Dave Ritchie

Great man and coach. A defensive mastermind who returned to BC to help his good friend Wally as DC culminating with the Grey Cup in 2006. Remember his Monday night coach’s show with JP McConnell and Dave’s wife was a regular caller.

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents

Thinking Jake Harty is going to see more offensive reps for the Lions than some might be expecting as well mostly for his blocking ability. Kind of a smaller version of David Mackie. Re-watching the Grey Cup he had a good game that day for the Als. Would love to see Maksymic implement a "smash...

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot

Looking far more likely that Rourke won't get a futures offer from New England. I read an article today on ESPN that said the Pats are not considering trading down an taking a QB later. They are expected to go with whoever the Bears and Commanders pass on out of Williams, Daniels and Maye. All 3 ar...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents

I initially thought the door was still slightly open for Lucky’s return but began to realize he would have to shave at least $50,000 off his $170,000 2023 salary. Unless it was loaded with performance incentives, how would anyone do at their job working for the same employer after taking a significa...

Very sad news and far too young. Tough time for the Bighill family as well with Craig and Adam being close with their time together in BC and Winnipeg.
