Re: NFL road rocky for Rourke after Patriots draft QB
They are perhaps looking for depth but they have way too much money invested in the top man. Unfortunately that man has been bitten by the injury bug too often for a 40 million dollar a year man. So depth it is. They go and get Drew Lock from Seattle on the idea that he may be able to compete for th...

Re: League Thows The Book at Chad Kelly
A 9 game suspension. Wow. You have to wonder how bad the incident must have been to stir the usually recalcitrant CFL into handing out 9 games. I mean, they take the players that the NFL suspends.

Re: Big congrats to New Canadian Dave Dickenson
A great guy and a great addition. I sometimes wonder why more former US players don't settle up here. With all the turmoil down south, the rampant tensions about this that or other thing, You would think that a relatively peaceful Canada might be a welcome change.

Re: NFL road rocky for Rourke after Patriots draft QB
Given the amount of Canadian talent in the coaching and scouting ranks of the Giants he might actually get a legit chance to compete. To date it reminds me of kicker Havard Rugland who I thought Nathan Rourke must be getting some great advice on his decision to leave the CFL but now I'm not so sure...

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot
Yeah, it doesn't look promising for Rourke in NE now. I really don't get how players don't even get a legitimate sniff while others who have done nothing are automatically elevated.

As a betting man, I'd say someone like Jim Jordan.

Maybe the Alan Key Line. Wasn't that an old joke directed at the Sedins? Everything in their country was put together with an alan key.

Re: Thoughts on getting Stanback?
Bottom line is that it isn't the scatback types that are doing the real damage in the running games these days. It is the big bruising backs that like to lay a beating on would be tacklers. Stanback is more of the latter and although injury has slowed him down, it was just a few short seasons ago, h...

Re: 2023-24 Vancouver Canucks/NHL Season Thread
I have to admit, I have kept waiting for the shoe to drop and it doesn't. I'm beginning to think that this may be the best Canucks Team we have ever seen. Not just based on their record but because of how they have been winning these games. I don't think I have ever seen a Canucks team pressure the ...

Just honor the player and his number. Retirement is necessary. Same effect and less juggling over time.

Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Thread
Okay, here is hoping that Trump will be ineligible . Frankly, the US has found a permanent residence on Planet Whack for even considering this fool again. I mean what do they want? There economy is doing better, unemployment is down, they are gradually restoring there relationships with NATO. What d...

Re: Russell Wilson - Traded (1.5 years later)
This is probably going to be quoted as one of the most lopsided bad trades ever in the NFL. I actually thought he was going through a bit of a renaissance this season but it appears to be short lived. His benching now is more about him not getting injured before the end of the season. Apparently, th...

Re: 2002 - Bob Ackles returns to Lions
This particular issue is always one that sticks in my craw. Lui had been kicker forever but even in the years before 2000, you had to be thinking that he could hang it up at any time. It seemed like the Lions were wholly unprepared for the time when he actually retired. Our kicking woes continued un...
