Re: 2020-21 NFL/Seattle Seahawks Season Thread

Anyone think the tackle on Dak Prescott was a bit of a horse collar? Thnx Bb I looked at it a couple of times and I would have to say no. Initial contact was from the side and not high IMO. The defender may have gotten a bid of jersey on the way down but it really doesn't look like there was anythi...

Re: 2020 British Columbia General Election Thread

I actually think the Greens have only 2 sitting MLA's at the moment. Weaver is sitting as an independent until the election at which point he is stepping away from politics. I doubt highly the Greens will increase. At this point, they will be lucky if the manage to get 3 seats again. Their big battl...

I am not all that sad about Hervey's departure. I wish him well and hope everything is OK, but I have always been up and down about whether I like him as a GM going back to when he first started with the Esks.

Re: Chase Claypool & the big BC receiver army

Yeah, Pankratz was pretty light. 180 lbs... I weighed that when I was 16. Yeah, but ... a lot of the all-time great receivers (CFL & NFL) have been guys in that range (under 6' or well under 200 pounds) - think of Cahoon or Terry Vaughn or Darren Flutie - quick, shifty guys; Uncle Milt & Geroy were...

Re: Ed Hervey leaves Lions for "personal reasons"

Well, I hope that he is okay or going to be okay. I wonder where that leaves the Lions at the moment. I suppose they have the benefit of not having to pay his salary while there is nothing going on but I guess the search will have to begin. Who might be GM material that is available?

Josh Boden He was listed at 6'1" and 212 pounds. He was charged with 2nd Deg Murder in 2018 in the 2009 death of a former girlfriend whom he reportedly blamed for cutting his football career short. I couldn't find any record of conviction so I suspect the legal proceedings which were set to go forwa...

Re: 2020-21 NFL/Seattle Seahawks Season Thread

Well on a weekend where KC lost, the Seahawks are the first team to go 5-0. I keep expecting them to mess up and the way they started tonight, it looked like they were going to come up flat against a sub 500 team. But they somehow managed to dodge a bullet again. They really need to beef up their D....

Re: Speculation is over. No season in 2020.

Yeah, it might be hard to find someone with deep pockets and a love of the game. There are a few millionaires around but the Lions are a tougher and tougher sell it seems. Was not Telus set to have naming rights at BC Place a few years back? I remember some issue that happened there and the deal was...

Cam Wake is riding the pine at home is he not. Maybe they could call him in for a look see. He might do well in a linebacker role.

Re: Speculation is over. No season in 2020.

Oh, I'm not sure it was easy money. Imagine trying to figure out what you were going to do for several months, approaching Government for help, getting turned down and being ridiculed to boot. Dealing with all the second guessers who like to comment on such things without ever having had to deal wit...

Re: 2020 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

Well, the first presidential debate went last night. What a display it was. Honestly, if I were a reasonable, rational citizen of that country, I would probably be embarrassed today. As it is, all I can feel is sadness that a once great nation has been reduced to that level. For the next debate, the...

Re: 2019 Canadian Federal Election Thread

I think what I remember about John Turner most was famously his speech anxiety issue. He froze up in the middle of an interview and it was very hard to watch. In the resulting discussion about what happened I believe he said something to the effect that lots of people in Parliament had similar issue...

Re: 2020-21 NFL/Seattle Seahawks Season Thread

Big news coming out of the NFL today. The Tennessee Titans have 8 players who have tested positive for Covid 19. Both they and the Minnesota Vikings (played last Sunday) have suspended all football operations until further notice. The Vikings don't report any cases at this time. Ouch!
