And all this time I thought it was the Bombers who were the culprits. Turns out, we exceeded them by $60K!

Re: Horrific kickoff collision has likely ended Hinsberger’s career
That was both a sad and inspiring read. Hinsperger showed a lot of promise on special teams so I am disappointed that he won't be returning but above all, wish him the best for a full recovery. This may be an unpopular take but I am not a fan of the return rules being messed with. If there is...

Re: Training camp 2024
I'm torn. I love that the Concert Kick-Off is becoming a staple of the Doman era, with crowds in excess of 30,000 and a buzz built around the team. My concern has been that, while the diehards know that there are only 2 preseason games in which to evaluate and there are fewer padded practices at tra...

Re: Training camp 2024
The change is disappointing in the sense that FanFest at Hillside Stadium has always had a festival atmosphere, even though attendance has dwindled over the years. Why do you suppose that is? I would have expected attendance to increase over time as popularity builds with exposure and engagement (i...

Re: Lions' receivers
IF he (ever) comes up here, it's likely going to cost a bundle to sign him. Also, if ego was an issue in the NFL, then I am not sure how it is going to get massaged playing in the CFL. He lasted just 2 years with with the organization (Steelers) that drafted him, playing for a no-nonsense coach (Tom...

Re: Touchdown Pacific in Victoria 2024
Nice to see the enthusiastic response to ticket sales but I can't se the advantage for the Lions when they could have sold 10,000 more tickets hosting the game at B.C. Place. Willing to let the accountants figure it out though and happy for the people of Vancouver Island. This game has very little ...

A few of the new recruits, Stanley Berryhill III, Devon Ravenel, and Ed Lee have all been timed at 4.45 in the 40. For what it's worth.

Re: RIP Craig Roh
Really sad news. Super nice guy. Started his career as a defensive end with the Leos but I thought really came into his own with the Bombers.
Gone far too soon. RIP.

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
Sounded earlier there was zero interest in bringing Lucky back but he might be just the guy they need while waiting on Hatcher. Qualifies as a marketable personality if nothing else although it seems he may not be a Rick Campbell favorite similar to the way Loucheiz Purifoy was . He does know the p...

Re: 2024 CFL draft (Lion's picks)
I have not seen a depth chart but I believe it's Greene's job to lose at safety. He acquitted himself very well on Teams and admirably filled in for Mauger at safety last year. I would expect Charlie Ringland to be #2 on the depth chart at safety but I have not seen anything on this. I would expect ...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
A mild aside here while we're talking about BCFC (it is the off-season after all). Do our 50/50 sales at Lions games go to this league, high school football, or the BCPFA (or some combination of all minor and amateur football in BC)? More from a standpoint of curiosity. I don't really care, just as ...

Eric Guthrie - The Canadian Rifle
Sad to learn that one of our Canadian quarterbacks and former Lions, Eric Guthrie passed away today (February 17, 2024) at 9:00am according to a post on Facebook. RIP.
Eric was a former Meriloma who went on to become a first-team All-Big Sky Conference at Boise State.

Re: Woody Baron & Quincy Mauger released
The jury is out on Stove Richardson. 2 achilles injuries. Exactly. I am not putting all my eggs in the Stove Richardson basket just yet. Two and half years is a long time to be out of football, coming off two Achilles injuries to boot. It will be a pleasant surprise for me if he comes back to form,...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
Whoa! According to Farhan the Lions offered Oliveira a three-year escalating deal starting at $250,000 and it took Bombers president Wade Miller’s involvement to ultimately keep him in Winnipeg. That must have been money allocated for Betts right? Wow. It's really odd because I had this sneaking fe...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents
All true, Hambone. But the larger point is the guy knows how to sling the ball. Yes, some late season brain fog (passes that shouldn't have been thrown) but I still maintain he is the best pure passer of the FA bunch. He didn't have nearly the weapons at his disposal in Sask that he would have here....
