Re: 2023 schedule

As others have mentioned, the 4 pm weekend start times open up the window for fans outside the Lower Mainland to attend. It will be interesting to chart the attendance of the summer games, but I believe these time slots will be successful for the Lions from a potential marketing standpoint.

Re: Season opener: Lions vs. Elks June 11, 2022

Sure is weird to hear the Leos as the talk of the town again. I was on the TransLink bus coming home from work last night. The guy (maybe 30?) sitting across from me took a call. He said to the person on the other end, "Saturday night? Can't. I'm going to the Lions game." But win or lose,...

Re: Season opener: Lions vs. Elks June 11, 2022

It will be surreal to be part of a 30K + crowd on Saturday. We've experienced far too many years of low attendance and quiet crowds. Kudos to Amar Doman!

Re: Training camp 2021

Losing Leroy Blugh is an absolute loss for Rick Campbell and the Lions D-Line. Campbell was counting on Blugh's playing & coaching experience to guide the rebuilding line.

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

That's sad when 5,000 fans in BC Place is very doable.

Sad, but realistic - as I'm sure the season ticket base has dwindled to next to nothing.

Re: End of the Road for Jennings & Carter?

As the old expression goes...."Million dollar body - ten cent head!" Carter was a waste of space in the Lions lineup. Seemed to be more interested in trash talking with opponents, as well as jawing with opposition coaches and referees than he was at running routes and catching passes. Just...

Re: 20 years ago this week ...

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary, Derek! Sometimes, I thought that I was alone as a Lions fan, but when I stumbled onto this site in 2003, I was happy to see that there were other supporters in the wired world. Your hard work and dedication is always appreciated and you should be proud of the c...

Re: I'm taking time off from the site -- WestCoastJoe

Lloyd aka Shi Zi Mi unfortunately passed away from lung cancer prior to the 2015 Grey Cup in Winnipeg where he resided. He never smoked a day in his life. He attended the Lions' training camp in Kamloops that spring. That was the last time I saw him. I first met him, Bosco and Cromartie at the 2004...

Re: Hamilton at B.C. Aug. 24, 2019

I really really really really hope that the Lions (for once) get things right on special teams. For one thing....last week's thought process of pooch kicking or kicking it short in order to avoid a long runback resulted in excellent field position for the Bombers on almost every possession. It's the...

Re: Argos Shopping James Wilder. Do you think Hervey is Interested

Although Wilder is a fine player, he is far from what the Lions need at this time. White, Rutley and Moore are more than capable running backs.

Lions greatest need right now is on defense. Oh, to have a Willy Jefferson or Charleston Hughes type of player (*sigh*)

Re: If no coach is fired, what would you advise in the short term?

Based on the current state of the team, next Saturday's home game against the Ticats should be marketed as "Sit In Your Own Row Night".

Yes, attendance will be THAT bad.
